If my bike looked like that I would not be satisfied with these answers and would still be looking for a solution.

I have to book it in for a safety, I will get it checked out when I am there.

PS,  It was serviced at a Guzzi dealership just before I got it so it may well already be sorted, but I will make sure.

Today spoke with the dealer who did the recall and serviced the bike, he gave me the history of my bike and what was done at the time of the recall/service.

The 2nd owner bought it in 2007 with just 18 miles on the clock. He did not ride it much either clocking up an average of 346 miles per year between 2007 and 2016.

The valve gear was replaced along with the lower fork brace, and even though they did not have to Piaggio picked up the tab.     The oil was changed twice, the first time to flush they system.    It was noted that it had been running hotter on one side, and the throttle bodies were tuned to correct this.

I'm a happy boy

Have a pic with the old woman....

In the service manual it recommends swapping the exhaust pipes side to side every 12,000 miles

Pipes are different lengths.

Pipes are different lengths.

Not only that but there is a balance pipe between the two.   He was joking... I hope

So my 2015 Griso with only 1200 miles on it already has more purple discoloring on the LHS vs. the RHS, which has some slight purpling.

Wonder if I should be concerned or whether the mapping even can be adjusted for Left side vs. Right side...will have to ask Beetle on this.

As Pete alludes, the left (S) cylinder "works" harder than the right.
Just the same, a good tuneup is in order. Start with adjusting the valves, TPS, throttle body sync in that order.

I think Pete might be trollin' ya there Chuck.
I can make it run hot on one side or the other or both or neither with nothing more sophisticated than a screwdriver.

Most likely the air screw is cracked open on that side to balance idle.
