Kentucky 227

Thanks to blu guzz, Doug and I had a very nice ride up thru the Northeastern part of the state yesterday.  For those of you into curves, go check out Hwy 227.  But as Tom warned us, be careful as there are a few bad places in the pavement that you'll need to watch out for.  Beautiful country, if the road ever straightens enough to have a look around.  Good eats at the Farmhouse Grill in Owenton, too.  Thanks again Tom, see you next time for sure.

Sarah

p.s.  For those who followed our gearbox overfill thread, so far so good with the Roamer.

I always make it a point to run 227 during the Ky. rally.  :thumb: 607 between 127 and 227 is a good one, too. The Kid found a couple of good ones about 50 miles from the rally that he said he'd show me this year..
Glad to see the Roamer is treating you well.

Sorry I could not join you for some riding, but the chores called my name.  Glad to hear that you enjoyed your brief stay in our area.  I forgot to mention the Farmhouse, but a big thumbs up and recommendation for anyone riding in our area.  There are plenty of other great roads in and around that area.  The riding is good enough that this could be a destination ride for riders to stay for a few days.  Other interesting things to do and places to see when one is not riding in the local area as well.  I issue an open invite to get in touch for anyone on the board who wants some suggestions.

Yep, 227 is a fun road. Just over from that is 127. The Kentucky Rally is off that road.

I did 227 once when I had driven down there in my WRX.  :thumb:

Forgot to mention: Glad to hear the gearbox issue turned out to be simple.

Thanks, and thank you for the reminder about the KY Rally, we'll make a note of that and do our best to be there.  Is there a date set for this year?

If I'm not mistaken, the Kentucky Rally should be Sept. 26,27,28,29. Usually the 4th weekend in Sept. (If you include the Thursday.)
