2001 EV Unknown Connectors
« on: February 24, 2020, 06:55:39 PM »
Hi guys,

Long time lurker - it seems like every question I've ever had about my 2001 EV was answered 10 years ago, but today I found something that I don't recognize.  While changing the battery I noticed these two connectors just hanging out.  I don't know what they could be for - accessories?  I'm getting by just fine having not done anything with these mystery connectors, but maybe I should at least know what they are.

Thanks!

-Jeff

The 3 pin is the diagnostic connector.

The 2 pin is for an LED that will blink out diagnostic codes (on my '98 V11EV"). Probably the same on your bike.

Ya, my 02 has that same small wire. I had no idea either. I didnt think the newer small ECM used a led code flash light..  but maybe its just a leftover from past models.

What? Guzzi would do that, and no documentation to boot?  Shirley, you jest.

Carl's drawing is labeled 98 but this is a 15M small ECU not the P8, the lamp is clearly there, item 47 you may be correct and it's not working.

46 Diagnostic Connector
47 LED Light

Sadly that schematic is labeled wrong. That is not a 98 EV schematic. The has a 15M ECU. But, the original photo shows a 15M, so it is likely a good match.
