Emotional Counterbalancing & Stabilization
« on: February 16, 2021, 06:04:43 PM »
OK, to balance out all the emotional trauma caused by me posting about my daddy issues, here are a few picks of the new pup.

For those of your WGer's who consider yourselves to be technological innovators.....

If you haven't invented the Automatic Puppy Bathroom Hammock (APBH), well eat your hearts out, cause we (the Ministry of R&D of Advanced Technology of SimpleMindedStan) have already done it.

In fact, we've already built at least two different versions.

Patents pending.  Credit available to qualified buyers.  Some assembly required.

Adorable pup, what's his name?

Brian.  After a very close friend who was killed in a car accident a few years after high school.

I wanted to name him "Hellboy" but the wife said no....

I have heard the same with ducks instead of puppies.  Must be a south of the Mason-Dixon Line classic.

If you ever find yourself up near Lynchburg, VA, let me know, I'll buy you lunch.

Sneak attack mode.  Unfortunately, you won't know if it is a bluff until you stand up.  Talk about feeling vulnerable.....

You wouldn’t believe how many little southern gals I won their favor by slipping them a note with that message and my phone number. Just ask Ms Lisa sometimes if it works 👍
And thanks for the lunch offer, I’d really like that!

Brian might have been thinking "I USED to be ashamed that my pee-pee was so small...... but now I don't feel so bad!"

I got your PM, sounds like a plan after the weather breaks.  If you make it up here, I'll hook you on trials riding!

Every old motorcycle rider needs a trials bike.

Teaches humility.  Falling off a bike at 0.5 mph is therapeutic....  Plus all the spectators appreciate it too!

I think there is a half dozen WG people within an hour of here.  Might have to make it an unofficial event.  Video recording devices will be required!

The only time I've been *hurt* on a motorcycle was exactly that.  It was therapeutic all right. Weeks of therapy after the cast came off..
I was trying not to "dab" on a side hill, but finally had to put my foot down, and the bike fell on me when the ground wasn't where I thought it was. Broke a bone in my foot, and I was in a non walking cast for the better part of the summer. On the positive side.. I got to be *very* good on crutches.

Brian's DNA results are in!

1/4 German Shepherd Dog
1/4 American Staffordshire Terrier
1/4 Rottweiler
1/8 Labrador Retrever
1/8 Traveling Salesman.....

Definitely looks like shorter hair than a GSD.  Which will be good, cause big sisters love the water.
With that mixture, he should be more hardy health wise than a purebred.

Remarkably similar to our existing dogs.

Emma:
3/8 Golden Retriever
3/8 American Staffordshire Terrier
1/8 Rottweiler
1/8 Boxer

Maggie:
3/8 Rottweiler
1/4 Australian Cattle Dog
3/8 Traveling Salesman....

And for the human types, therapeutic books I'd recommend are:

As A Man Thinketh by James Allen. I given more than a few away to yutes when the graduate from high school.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius (the translation that speaks best to me is the one by Maxwell Staniforth)

great intellectual adult equivalents for those as yutes who did not have a Grandmother who gave you the timeless advice:

"When the other kids insult you and try to make you mad, just say STICKS & STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES BUT WORDS WILL NEVER HURT ME!"

Dusty, I thought you might appreciate that timeless wisdom.

Back in the day, just like now, there were choices.

Voluntarily adopting Gramma's philosophy into one's thought process was far preferable to Dad practicing his philosophy on your ass!!!

Dad:  "QUIT YER WHINING OR I'LL GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO WHINE ABOUT!!!"

The term "butthurt" had a very different meaning back then..........  weird, huh?  Even molasses cookies didn't ease the pain much.

Gramma's timeless wisdom updated for the digital age:

"Virtual sticks and stones can't break my bones and neither can virtual words........  How much of a dork do I have to be to get upset over something one posts on the internet?"

If you ever get a hold of a virtual belt, I suspect all criticism of how WG is administered will quickly cease.....
