Yes, these will go for big bucks.  Wish I had the $ and the space to house these...

as the bevel prices are now astronomical the next generation of ducatis becomes collectable.
as the people who lived in the early nineties and could not afford one now have a disposabe income
we saw the same with guzzi;s , where the value of the le mans now exceeds the v7sport value,
the V7sport generation is retired , and less interested on motorcycles

i bought a f1 when they were considered old bikes, only interesting if you could not afford the 900ss,  i should start rebuilding it

IMO the superlight is way overvalued, seeing as the only differences are the marvic wheels, solo seat and a smattering of carbon fiber.
On the other hand it's one of very few motorcycles that look great in yellow.

C'mon now...the poor 23-year old Centauro GT looks pretty good in yellow, IMHO    :thumb:

I agree(on both points).  I had an immaculate ‘93 SS and I think 11k is twice what a SL is worth.  That’s collector condition 851 money.

And now a 600TL (wasn't called "Pantah" by Ducati).

Playing slacker pile-on without going behind the pic posted here-

the F1 series include the F1A  and F1B which were legitimate production racers, with decal on frame stating the bike was non-EPA compliant and not legal for street use.  There was a big sticker on frame next to gas tank, easy to see.  The F1S was the detuned and street legal version of these production racers.  The easy way to spot an F1S is typically the rear fiberglass cowl section with handhold behind the seat.  This detail was missing on the F1A and F1B models.  But it's easy to swap that rear fiberglass (if you can find it) to pretend an S is an A or B.

An S isn't as valuable as an A or B, just my opinion.  With the description talking about this being "street" bike, maybe it's just a ignorant description or a listing hoping buyers won't know the difference.  I realize the real race bikes are old enough that getting a tag now is usually not an issue.  But if the bike was an actual production racer model, I expect such information would be clearly stated because it would seem to add value to the sale.

There's been a pretty nice F1B for sale multiple times from the Maryland area in recent years, think around $13K.   Unless it sold this last time after another extended posting, that's still too much.
