I need to install lowering links on my DR. I might then need to cut and reweld my kickstand. Need 3 hands to do it.

The bevelbox off my Norge is being rebuilt by Pete Roper and Michael since the preload dump incident.
He loaned me his for the ride home.

Just got my V85 back from the guy in Melbourne after the dyno pull and map rework to get rid of the 3,000 rpm staggers. $1,000 and this

later...I have a V85 that pulls like a 15 year old boy with a Penthouse and is just lovely.
Thought I’d take the head off the CT110 and clean the piston crown.

In my life as a postie, I’d notice around 15,000 km, the bike would begin to show symptoms of detonation. A quick clean of the head and piston crown would always work wonders. More power and no detonation risk...
She’s got a fair bit of work ahead with fairly high throttle setting and warm/humid ambient conditions, a recipe for sure for potential trouble.

I have to fabricate a rear caliper bracket and torque arm.  Caliper will be below the axle when installed.

I'll be starting clay for a new sculpture project right away after Just finishing hand cut letters on a small memorial for the father of a motorcycle friend after he picked up some V700 parts for me.

Next bike work is welding this RD350 seat, before hopefully getting back into my V700 Corsa Record project-

Much of this was facilitated by finally resolving electrical issues in my shops.  For approx the last year, I've had a recurring problem with dead circuits.  Most seemed to be related old work done by the previous owner.  It usually happened at a bad time and never persisted long enough for a clear diagnosis.  Money and time were being arranged to potentially r&r much of it, just in case, around larger responsibilities.  About two weeks ago, I finally identified it as external to my buildings.  it was then sourced to a bad connection inside the transformer at the street- one leg was 122V-123V, the other was 24V.....  Now both legs are 124V.   The old work thing was just a coincidence in how those circuits were wired to the bad leg bar in the panel.

So I finished converting all my lighting to LED on Sunday.  It's so bright it's like I took the roof off of each building.  Now it's time to finish getting my equipment installed and shops wired up & running with new old machines.  Very cool.

Edit- almost forgot.  Around the electrical work, I made a pair of mallets for metal work with my new old wood lathe that was part of the - bounty.  One is maple head and ash handle, both from my grandfather's woodpile (been saving that wood for 20 yrs) and the other is all pecan from my woodpile-

Maybe the brake stay/holder from an EV? You would get the axle spacer you need and just need to add an anchor point on the swing arm.

Lots of digging

We are building an AirBnB apartment in our basement, so I needed to clean out the crud under the deck, install a new door (knotty alder), and make some sort of patio for the guests

I found every rock in this picture (except the pile of flagstones) while digging all the stuff I've dug at our new house

I've also been murdering POMPASS GRASS! ick, terrible stuff... I hate it. Invasive shite

The entire property was overrun when we bought the place

6 mos of removal

you have to cut or burn it down, that doesnt kill it, so you spray with roundup.. if that doesnt work, you have to manually remove the root mat... Once you dig it out tho, you cant just throw it in the woods, it will volunteer right up and spread some more.. This stuff is tuff.  I am now digging it up, washing as much dirt as possible out of the root mat with a hose (it's crazy heavy otherwise) and throwing the roots out in my garbage-- TAKE THAT, LANDFILL!

Your house is different.....

I first started coming up to the Mtns as a kid, going to bible camp and youth retreats etc...  Driving thru the backroads I was blown away by all the crazy houses here... Log cabins with creeks running thru the yard, A-frames, crazy modern homes cantilevered out over steep rocky hillsides, barn construction,  funky arts & crafts bungalows, rondettes, and of course some dome houses.

I lived in the flattest, most treeless, cookie cutter suburban neighborhood imaginable in a boring town. There was one cool house in my neighborhood, a massive colonial house on a huge lot with a big circular driveway- in hindsight it was only cool because it was the biggest one and had the best property. I grew up in a 70's built split level ranch, every house I had ever seen was one of those, a four square, or an little mill house.

I swore someday I was going to live in Asheville, or up in the mountains somewhere and get myself one of those crazy houses.  It took me until 44 to do it, but we bought this geodesic dome last year and it has been a wild ride. Sometimes when I pull up I still cant believe it's my house-- up on the hill it looks like a new-age worship center or something. Very lucky to have found this place in a great area.  I can't wait to paint it and put a new roof on ($$$!!!), but the inside, yard and property have taken great strides under our stewardship.

Still working on the A10 BSA but got distracted by this 87 Yamaha 350 Warrior I picked up. It's got a hand clutch and controls like a motorcycle...My wife showed interest so it getting fixed up..We just reinstalled the engine after fitting a new cylinder, piston, alternator stator, ignition pick ups and control cables etc...These old quads are still popular, parts are inexpensive and readily available...

I just got a Quota that has been sitting for a few years. So far no cracked rims or exhaust. But needs all the other little updates. Almost too much when I started and felt overwhelmed. But little by little, day by day the list got shorter. Only things left are new plug wires and may have to pull the injectors for a professional cleaning if the Seafoam/Techron does not work. Still not running smooth but seems to be getting better but maybe I am just a bit optimistic. The only big job left is greasing the steering stem bearings if I can get by without the special tool for the castle nut.

Tom

Thanks Tom,

This guy?

The caliper mounting points are different, and the little stay on my swing arm has been shaved.  I was thinking something like this except anchored to the swing arm instead of the frame (this looks to be free-floating) and with a simpler stay of just flat steel:

Fred, That is what I was thinking of. I guess your caliper won't match the holes in the bracket? The other version is kinda nice.

Good luck,

That's correct.  The P32 caliper has its mounting holes equidistant from the axle while the EV rear caliper's mounting holes are at an angle.
