Rear drive splines

So I was hoping to get a few more miles out of my tire on my T3 but I picked up a nail today which brings me to some rear wheel/drive maintenance items.
I’m wondering if I replace the splines to wheel hub on an old Tonti rear drive do I need to shim the bugger?
 Or is it just a nut/bolt affair?

Should be within specs. Every one I've done have checked it and was OK. Just bolts on to ring gear. Pull inner bearing off & change seals.

  Are you speaking of the splined hub bolted to the crown gear ?
If so I believe checking the thickness of the flange that bolts to the
crown would be enough to see if there's anything more to do . Peter

Not exactly flush these, but I certainly could dish out the dough.

Edit: I’ll put about 4-5k on her before winter

Would you guys replace these splines?

Well greased, they should last many more miles, but if you ride long distances I would make plans to replace both within the next year or so.

My MilleGT splines were worn to sharp points.

Operating the engine consistently under 4K rpm can cause accelerated wear on driveline parts. It’s hard to tell how much wear is on the cup side but it looks better than the wheel side. Won’t know until you clean the grease off. I degrease those and  put on dry film moly then grease over the top of that. Maybe you can get by with only replacing the wheel side. That’s easy and the cush should be serviced at that time since you’re there.

Thanks guys. I think I’m going to run it for now. It seems like MG Cycle has the hubs in stock usually. Under 4K, not often.
