Hi Motu, I've recently picked up a white Stornello 160 off trademe from a guy in Papakura. White wasn't one of the colours mentioned in your list so I wonder where this came from. The guy I got it from claimed to have it from new, its only done 14k kms though.

Looks pretty much all there. :thumb:

Don't see any number plate at all. Are the plates on hold or is it a revinning job?

I'm jealous.  Smpg, what country did you find it in?

Hi this is in New Zealand - south Auckland. I actually live in Singapore and only get down to NZ once a year or so. I also have a V7 Special down there, plus a few other but they only get ridden once a year.

No plate, so it will need to go for compliance in due course. A long term project though as I don't live in NZ at the moment (don't like paying tax...)

Our daughter lives in Singapore.  We find the heat and humidity pretty oppressive but enjoy going for the odd visit.  For some reason a very expensive country to get to from NZ.

A long time since I've been here - a new browser has brought back bookmarks I lost in a Firefox update. The red frame white tank would be inline with the earlier Guzzi colours, 1973 ?   The 125 scramblers in Christchurch were red/white, but that colour 160 would not be in our shipment. Maybe there were some 160's in that shipment of 125's ?

The Stornello doesn't get ridden much, but it's good for a quick fang on a summer afternoon. Broke a fuel banjo doing a fuel line replacement, so got a rebuild kit for the carb, and running much better.  Also got it on straight SAE30 - that wide 3 gear helical primary drive is a real shear factory, and a straight weight is shear proof.

Good to see you back Motu.

I take it you are still in Singapore, or have you come back to NZ?

A prod since you have just returned to WG., there is a thread going where Luap wants people to check in to ensure you don't get turfed in an upcoming cleanout.

nice to read about the Stornellos, I realy do want one for the quick trip around town. I read that the stornellos are so good that Moto Guzzi or privateers used to run them in 175cc competitions. just shows the quality of the build.
