Took it for a test drive today, since I now ride a scooter I guess it seemed like it vibrated A LOT! Will I get used to it over time? It did feel like I was definitely riding a proper motorcycle again. My kids made me laugh when they said its "guts" were showing!! Offered $3500, will see what the owner says tomorrow...

[sarcasm]

They vibrate like Hell.  Much worse than Sportsters, and such.

Hard to believe these actually sold, but they did.

I don't know how people have been able to log hundreds of thousands of miles on the things.

The vibration renders them practically unrideable...

 I don't think Mr Radtke knows the back story on the sarcasm Mike  ;) Betcha he learns to rev it and finds out it will run smooth  ;-T

Well folks I picked her up yesterday, $3800 after a bit of haggling ☺. Brought it home and have been exploring and cleaning. Took my oldest for a quick ride and she said we weren't taking the scooter again, just this one!

That's the right order!   Exploring, cleaning ... then bonding with a nice overnight trip on the road!

I like the seat.  Did you get a t-shirt out of the haggle?  Always get your t-shirt.

But you can't say BTDT unless you have the free t-shirt to prove it.  You need to go back and have them give you one.    ~;

Great looking bike.
 Just think you bought all that you got for less money than a 250-300 cc entry level bike. :drool
Hope you enjoy it as much as I love my 98EV. As others posted keep the revs up. Don't drive it like a Harley. 4000 RPM and above is where this bike wants to be. Will be less strain of the drive train too.

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely do that. I have got a lot to learn here, so I may be asking a ton of absurd questions. I am going to try and do a search first so as not to annoy  ::(.

Congrats!  dollar for dollar, you got a fantastic deal. That is an extremely capable platform on top of being very pretty.

Very cool Michael. Congrats on the buy, and the sweet bike. I just found this model (well, a Jackal) last summer myself. Very glad I did. She looks ready for adventure. This will imprint on your kids too, you'll be talking about this bike for generations.

my pit crew....daughter Em on the same platform.

sorry. can't help myself

Good Job Michael! Excellent motorcycle at a fair price.  And you live in smack in the middle of some excellent riding!  Congratulations and have a good summer riding around.
