throttle cable splitter

Hi Kingpost here-

work has finally slowed up to give me  time to work on my 1972 eldorado

new to working on bikes

throttle cable broke at splitter.  bought new one.  i removed single cable end and now trying to figure out how to install new cable end into splitter

i know there is an device that you attached all three cables together.  do i have to detach throttle cables to carbs to get enough slack so it pulls out of splitter so i can attach new cable?  didn't want to mess with carb end adjustment if  i didn't have too.

thanks.

Yes, you'll need to detach the lower cables from the carbs slides in order to get enough free length to install the upper cable. As long as you don't mess with the adjusters on the carb tops, you won't change carb balance or sync.

I hate working with that splitter.  I'd just change it to a Tomasselli(?) throttle system like the tonti's have.  So much easier
to replace the cable.
