With the recreational vehicle market in full on crazy mode I am currently taking advantage and am selling off motorcycles.
-
Bring A Trailer has driven the price of EVERYTHING there through the roof.....don’t know whether to praise or curse that.

BAT is simply a forum to sell vehicles to a specific market, i.e. the enthusiast market for whatever brand of vehicle one wishes to sell. You will always going to get a higher price for a specific vehicle, especially a vintage or rare or special vehicle because this is where the enthusiasts are. You are going to get more people looking at an item on BAT than posting it in the paper...
This is what the market will bare, as the old saying goes: YOU GOT TO PAY TO PLAY...

Oriented Strand Board. It has pretty much replaced plywood in a lot of uses.

There's a lot of people with extra money too. Need a place to spend. Plus I think some are forgetting the foreign market. A lot of vehicles get purchased and go overseas. It IS the market not an abberation. I still don't get all the anger and bitterness.
For me, if there was a vehicle that I could buy that was well sorted, as close to like new as possible and I could ride or drive it from the get go with no worries, I'd pay top dollar for that positive experience.

I had one of those. The performance of my Stelvio seems similar, instant light speed as I referred to it back then.

Anyone who has gone to a lumberyard lately knows EXACTLY what you mean...

I had mine :thumb: Young, dumb, and hanging in Daytona in 1975. Rode down from Ohio and ran out of money. Took a job painting a guys house to get enough money to ride home.

I really like BaT as a seller. I’d rather buy locally as the prices are better, especially with sellers who are not internet savvy or just want the bike gone. But I’m usually buying restoration candidates with varnished carbs.

I’m sorry JJ, my bad. I was attempting to make a light hearted attempt at humor at the extreme rise of the cost of lumber in my area. Please forgive the high jack.

Z1 prices are just catching up to the prices these have fetched in the United Kingdom for years now. The Z1 has gotten plenty of attention overseas for at least the past five years and prices just keep climbing. The Brits have several Japanese cult bikes, the Yamaha LC 350 (I don’t think the USA got them), Yamaha XT 500, Suzuki GT 750, and the Yamaha FS1. Most Honda’s haven’t yet seemed to get into stratosphere pricing but the K0 CB 750 is getting up there.

It's still brown, after all these years. Brown.

It may still be "BROWN"...but it is now @ $13,500...with 1 day still left to GO!!

The 900's were great in the Mad Max movie. I think led to much of their cult appeal.
Being short, I always preferred the 750 Kawasaki. That was easily hot rodded a bit and still daily driveable. Really loved my 81 I had. Now I have a low mile 02 model, last of them, in the shop hoping I'll find the energy to finish it. For me the 750 was always just right. The 900 was too tall and less easy to manage.

Then they made these......https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_Z1300
