In the end I did not sell any of my Guzzi's nor did I buy a Gold Wing but this

followed me home today.
Nice bike FK.
A bit of a prediction here…
After one year it’ll have 1,200 miles added and be up for sale. The reason(s) will be as follows.
“Too big and heavy to push around the garage”
“Did not find it inspiring”
“Power delivery bland and disinteresting”
“Too hard to do your own servicing”
You’ll sell it and buy a low mile V100, but for now it’s a good choice… :clock: :clock: :clock:

So, after sitting for a spell, it now revs when opening the throttle, whereas before…it wouldn’t? That’s bizarre.

Welp, I got my touring done, officiated at a boat race and got a few things caught up at home. So this morning I tackled the V7. I pulled the battery leads and touched them together. Then I started the engine and let it idle for about 12 minutes or so. It sounded reasonably good, idle a bit low and slightly lumpy. Then at about 13 minutes the rpm jumped up a couple of hundred and it smoothed out. It revs up just fine and actually seems to be a little more perky but that is probably just a figment of my imagination. I haven't jumped on yet. I will do the oil change first and put the oil back in the fork.
Thanks guys for the guidance.

I had a GW Aspencade for a short time. It truly is the Cadillac of tourers but was just too big and heavy for me to muscle around the garage and parking lots. I was afraid of dropping it and not being able to get it back up and so sold it. Years later, now, I wish I’d kept it.

Looks to me that the input spline spent a fair amount of time under water. I'd be curious what the inside of the final drive looked like.

"....folks either love them or don't like them at all."

Everybody finds a bike that fits their needs, I rode a GW once and knew it just wasn't for me.
