On the 1st day of my summer vacation

This is our first road trip of 2022, and since the crash last July.

We hit Watts-Bar on the way to Sweetwater, TN - and to our motel.  They have a nuclear plant, a hydro-electric, and a coal-fired plant which are all within 20 miles of each other.  It made for an interesting visit.










Then it was off to the usual area sites.





















THEN we ran into NC Dan and headed north to visit at the 39th annual Virginia Moto Guzzi Rally










After THAT, it was a ride back south and out (more) in the middle of nowhere for a river view, wildlife, music and good food.


Here's master chef Dan.  He kept us fed, put us up, and chauffeured us around to all of the local sights.   









A bit of (excellent) entertainment.  Even the critters came out to listen.










We had a great time, and the weather was perfect.   :-)

We found a lot of good motorcycle roads. 

There were signs...... "no vehicles over 30 feet in length", etc...   A pretty good indication.   


I wonder how long this guy had been sitting on that tractor





The GPS was practically useless.   And these signs were everywhere.






And then there's the occasional bear.






There was a doe, not ten feet from me at Sunday's first fuel stop.  Before I could get the phone out and fumble the camera - she had wandered off to eat the leaves on a tasty tree.

My wife rides with me, and so we needed big saddlebags.  She packs me extra socks and underwear and stuff.   

So, we took that Heritage Softail.
