Title: V7 longer cables set ?
Post by: solarsea on October 19, 2015, 05:32:59 PM
Does MG offer a set of longer cables for people that decide to replace the stock handlebars with other options? It seems that all of the clutch and throttle cables are made to match with no much of an extra left for customization.

If not, what generic ones fit ? The clutch one - I can surely source a local replacement but the throttle pair seems to have additional stuff on them drawn in the parts list manual.

Thanks!~

Depends on which V7?   Maybe a clutch cable from a Nevada or V65C will work. Throttle cables are a different story, most likely have to be custom made. OR maybe from a FI Guzzi Big Block.

Guzziology has a chapter that has pages of tables with information about cable lengths and end fittings, with part numbers and which motorcycles they came on.  It allows you to find a cable that will work for your application, and get the part number for it.  I was able to use that information to get a shorter clutch cable for my Mille that works much better with my "superbike" bars than the stock one did, without having to get one custom made.

All right!

Lets start a X-ref chart for convenience.

Heres a 09 parts dia. ref for your information.
