Title: eBay 850 II - Gold
Post by: Scout63 on July 26, 2021, 06:27:47 AM
I think I like this one better. It could sneak into a corral of sleeping 900SS’s

Certainly cool tho, I just dont think any cafe/custom that hasn't had the iconic LeMans I tank put on it will sell for anything in that region

Here's another $9000 850-T

Cooler than the black/gold, but still wont sell at that price

I have a friend with a really nice stock 850T in brown.. he wants $4500. In Minneapolis, any interest? I can get pics if so.

I really wish sellers would just use lower opening bids and higher reserves.  It makes it possible to see what the market will bear.

Cool beans...but if there is one thing I truly dislike on any motorcycle, it's the unnecessary, cobby, "Ace-Bandage" wraps around the exhaust headers...

I know. It always feels temporary, like the bike is wearing wrist casts.

I understand and get it on a high-performance race bike...but why hide the nice chrome on a cafe or street bike?

Again, IMHO, it's ugly and unnecessary...

That and going to all the trouble of re locating the battery and all the other bits just to leave a hole you can't even put a 6 pack in.

I think a 6pack fits cross wise, but it needs to be fastened down so you don't lose in transit, then when you get home, way too much foam!
fun to splash at your buddies, not too good for drinkin'...

Don’t assume the pipes are bright chrome. Maybe they are 46 year old blued and rusted under there. Wrap is cheaper than rechroming or new pipes.

EXACTLY! I dont think anyone is doing a full rebuild and then wrapping shiny new pipes... it's a corner-cut or a penny pinch!

Cut the frame to fit an awkward seat.  It looks half assed and needs to be re-done.  I wonder where the battery goes.
