Title: V7 850 tires
Post by: Beowulf on June 20, 2022, 10:57:04 PM
Things have turned out pretty well with the v7 850. I’m wearing the tires down because I can’t stop riding the darn thing. Anyone have opinions on tires for the the new v7 as the size changed a bit I believe? Continental road attacks still the favorite? The dunlops have been great but I don’t think they are radials. Opinions and feedback requested.

Fitted Bridgestone T32. Changed the front size to 110/80. Now, for me at least, it transitions smoothly side to side. Excellent wet or dry dual compound  tyre/tire. Possibly best "upgrade" I've done.

I'm apt to look at the Avon Storm 3D.  Those were my favorite tire for the Ducati Scrambler I owned.

I am also a fan of Avons. I have used Cobras and Cobra Chromes which I liked. I have read all the reviews on Revzilla about Avon Storms and Spirits. The Storms had better reviews and those that compared the two preferred the Storms. I had to replace a Chrome on my Audace with a Bridgestone when an Avon wasn't available. It felt fine and handled well but I didn't have it long enough to evaluate wearability.

As a matter of interest, what diameter and sizes does the bike run?

Been quite the day at work. I’ll try look up those tire sizes when I get a chance.

Factory is

100/90/18 front tyre and a 150/70/17 rear tyre.

I've switched the front to a radial size -110/80 so now matched radial front and rear & superb handling.

Different from the Breva thanks.  Down here on the backside of the planet it sometimes is fit what you can get.

Currently running Metzeler Roadtec on the front and the Metz. MZ2 steel belted radial (OEM for Triumph Bonneville fortunately) which seem to work pretty well.
