I have a 2004 EVT, the recall's were done by the previous owner and I hope it was final version of the engine recall. It did have the single plate clutch which failed and left me stranded in Gettysburg PA. I bought the double plate parts on the wildguzzi swapmeet and swapped it myself. The used parts along with new plates, springs, bolts, washers gaskets, etc. Was in the neighborhood of $400.00. O and of the members here graciously let everyone borrow his special tools. Image a tool of my own to hold the new input gear (I will let you borrow that )
That bike also has the issue of the rubber fuel line coming off the the fuel pump (which is inside the tank) the fuel hose was not of the type used with Ethenol gasoline, so it would degrade. The solution is to remove the pump (easy job) replace the fuel line with some from any auto parts store secure with stainless steel oetiker clamps. The cost would be about $20.00 and 1 hour of your time.
So in short I would
1) get the Vin contact a Guzzi dealer and see if the recall have been completed.
2) Remove the valve cover take pictures post the here and ask for input if it looks like they are done.
4) If the engine recalls look good get a quote for the tools and parts for the single to dual plate
clutch swap (mine lasted 10K)
5) negotiate from there
If you are willing to convert the clutch and the recall work was done on the engine it is a sweet ride.
