1400 rear shock rebuild?
« on: May 11, 2022, 11:16:02 PM »
I need my 1400 rear shocks rebuilt.  Does anybody know of a shop that can do that??  I'm in Washington state.

Just North of the border is the place, I had him rebuild the shock on my Griso, very reasonable, only charged me $200 when I blew all the oil out riding the Dempster highway
He told me he does a lot of work for stateside owners.
His shop is just North of the Sumas crossing.
Does a lot for dirt bikes, skidoos and competition riders.

You might also want to talk to Moto-uno aka Peter, he has a different idea on what you can do to improve the rear suspension on a 1400

Thanks Roy.  This also is Roy Harvey just down in Seattle area.  I haven't seen you in quite a while - How goes things?
My left rear shock hose rubbed a tear in it and leaked all the oil out.  I don't know anything about these new-fangled shocks, so I need to send them out for repair.

Hi Roy, i'm doing ok thanks, just got back from 7 weeks in New Zealand, I have half share in a V9 Roamer down there. I haven't ventured South of the border for a while.
Do you think Deep Forest will be on again this year?
I'm sure RMR could fix you right up, why not give them a call, he works from his property on Bat Road, Sumas Mountain.

Yes, there an ad in the MGNOC newsletter. I plan on attending with a couple of friends.

1400 rear shock FIXED

Turns out my shock only needed a new hose and to be re-charged.  BUT, nobody could purchase just the hose!  And, Nobody could make the hose ends just the same as MG!  Fortunately, I found a rear shock on E-bay.

Great you were able to find a replacement . Those shocks were worlds better
than the stylish crap that came on the 2018 Eldorados . Keep the shock , I'll
probably be at the Deep Forest event , maybe I could bring it back with me and
tinker with it :) .  Peter
