Jacket photo shopping
« on: January 24, 2022, 04:14:05 AM »
I’m going to get a leather jacket made to suit my expanding girth and need one that is a bit longer in the torso.
That in itself is not a problem, but I can’t get one in the colours I want.
I’m after something like this

But I want the colours green/white/red....(of course..)
Can any photo shoppers out there, alter the above image and make the black into Italian green ?

Remember when Beetle turned this

Into this

They say”it’s not easy being green..”
But it is nice..

How’s this? There’s a reason black isn’t used as a backdrop for CGI overlay; not the easiest to shift colors around, but I can definitely adjust if needed:

Current: ‘16 Guzzi V7 II Stone, ‘78 BMW R80/7

Previous: ‘15 Ural Gear Up, ‘77 Kawasaki KZ400 Special, ‘78 Honda CX500S, ‘80 Honda CX500D, ‘11 Suzuki TU250X

Have you tried the Tiger Angle website (Melbourne based). They have a design and colour programme. Thats where i got my race suit made. Just make sure you get external armour on the shoulders. It may save you from a serious shoulder injury one day.

EDIT....looks like they have removed the customising facility on their website. My suit is 11 years old and I wouldn't get them to make another one as it appears they don't use any form of external shoulder protection. Internal protection isn't enough as when your shoulder hits the road it doesn't slide at all but the leather grabs the tarmac and damages your shoulder/collarbone. I spoke to them about this years ago after an injury on the track and they haven't modified their design by the looks of things so I wouldn't recommend them or use their suits again. Having internal protection isn't enough on the shoulders, you need to reduce the friction on impact with the tarmac as well.

Ciao

Bloody hell I like that...!
Maybe just a touch overdone,  it it’s what I asked for and I could  live with it..!
Could I have red where the black is, white can stay the same and ( slightly darker) green, where the red is ?
Thank you so much Dirk...(I promise I won’t ask again..)

I have paid my deposit on the jacket as depicted here.
The red will be less garish as will the green. Projected cost is around AUD 800, that will include pockets for shoulder elbow and back armour of my choosing, but not included.
I don’t think it will be ready in time to ship it with the bike to Mandello, that occurs in 3 weeks, but I should easily have it by the time I fly out.
I resolve to soak it in local alcoholic product on the shores of Lake Como and leap in whilst wearing it...
Here should do nicely..

Now THERE’s a Christening if ever there was....

Great approach, [Huzo], and it prompts me to broach a related issue, which I'll start another thread for.

I had a nice collection of jeans when the lockdown began, and now they are unuseable, through no fault of theirs.

Since actual stores where one can try on clothes are so rare these days, I will seek the collective wisdom of the forum regarding member's choices of pants these days.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Well..
This is it so far.

The green accents you see on the back are something I’ve asked him to add. I was initially less than enamoured with the colour, then I saw this shot of Rossi’s Ducati

Not too far off I reckon and it actually looks better in person.
In an attempt to break up the panelled look a bit, I’ve had these two things laser cut

and will have them sewn onto the front, where the pockets would be if it was a shirt.
It is a bit of a tip of the hat to the Guzzi 100 th.
I resolve to jump into Lake Como, drunk on local wine and then ride around the Lake in the warm air to dry it out.
That will be the initiation…(as it were..)
