V11 instrument schematic
« on: January 16, 2023, 11:50:34 AM »
2003 V11 Sport
I'm replacing my panel lights with LEDs, the OEM sockets were touch and go. The schematic colors are a bit difficult to read, appreciate someone to help clarify.

As for dash light wiring, this is now confirmed to be correct:

Instrument bulb harness color key

HIGH BEAM: brown +, black -

OIL: red black +, blue black -

NEUTRAL: white +, violet -

FUEL: red black +, yellow white -

BATTERY: red black +, light blue -

TURN: green black +, pink –

I removed each light socket, marked each before doing so. Then afterward realized the pen I used wiped off the masking tape while working with the harness. I then proceeded to remove the now unless tape and inadvertently also slid off the tiny zip ties that contained two wires, per socket. I now have all of these wires, unclear what one is positive, what one is negative, and what two belong together. The above is what I have concluded thus far. I'll figure it out, then post to the thread if no one else has ever recorded these facts.

thanks @john fish. I actually downloaded those with high hopes, ThisOldTractor maintains such a helpful site! However the English Schematics, are still in Italian. Even so I can figure them out, but the wire colors are so unclear, i can't be sure. Tonight I hope to sit down next to the bike, and probe around, taking notes to later share.

Try Carl Allison's. May be a little clearer.  https://www.thisoldtractor.com/guzzi007/sportissimo.html

Thank you @RinkRat. I have his version as well, it's so nice as it's built digitally, I can really zoom in.
it's the same problem, it so very difficult to indentify the correct wires for each light, then positive and negative. I posted my best guess and will confirm or update once I probe each.
I complicated things a bit more for myself by using LED, unlike regular bulbs, these are directional so I must identify the positive feed for each.

After looking at the diagram in my owner's manual it appears your initial assumptions are correct. A good double check wouldn't hurt.

this is accurate for my 2003 V11 Sport, with a single turn signal light. Thank you @docc

That's awesome.  Thank you for posting that.

The V11 Sport is a great motorcycle.  Selling mine in the swap meet here.  I love it, but the old body just won't tolerate the riding position anymore.
He lost the run of himself.
