Title: total hip replacement/Starsky & Hutch
Post by: ampm7 on June 20, 2021, 12:59:32 PM
Well, while I am convalescing from a total hip replacement, I happened to watch an old Starsky & Hutch episode with a Moto Guzzi police bike in it. I am sure someone on this website has seen the episode so if I am redundant forgive me. The plot goes like this: Starsky's girlfriend is shot in the head and subsequently dies and they finally have the shooters cornered in a food warehouse when Hutch gets a brilliant idea to hop on the Guzzi and ram it through a double glass door and into the warehouse thereby initiating a shootout. You can plainly see the tank and the radio/saddlebags although some of the bike is obscured by a police car, but you can see the whole bike as it crashes through the doors. At the end of the episode, the camera pans the front of the police headquarters and there are a couple of police bikes along the curb but it is done so quickly, I could not see the cylinder heads but I would assume they are Guzzi's also. I did not get a date for the episode so, I don't know whether it was before or after Magnum Force as David Soul was in that also. I kind of like those Starsky & Hutch episodes as they are tongue and cheek with decent writing. I am sure they inspired some of the more recent "buddy" cop movies.

Good going with the hip!  Mine was replaced 8 months ago and it is excellent.

That's it! Yeah, the hip replacement is in it 2 1/2 week period and I need the walker for all movements. I think by the end of the 4th to 5th week I may be able to ditch it and go to the cane. It is still pretty painful but it is getting better. Hopefully after 2 months (I've got my fingers crossed) I may be able to swing a leg over the motorcycle.
