Lake Henshaw, CA N.A.R. Oct. 2021?
« on: June 19, 2021, 09:52:06 AM »
Anyone know if the SOCAL Guzzisti are going to schedule their annual N.A.R. at Lake Henshaw, CA in Oct. 2021?   Please advise.  Thanks in advance. :thumb:

There's a small group of riders from northern AZ that will ride out there and attend as well, if they schedule it! :thumb: :boozing:

Adding my expression of interest. Henshaw is local for me, so if some of you Northern Arid-zoners want to ride out on your own, I'd be happy to play tour guide (assuming dates work).

But y'all will have to return the favor in Northern AZ. I've ridden a lot out there, but I'm sure you know where all the fun "secret" roads are.

Thanks, Scud!  :thumb:   I have ridden out there many times over the years...Alpine, Ramona, Julian, San Diego, Del Mar, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, etc.... great roads / scenery! :thumb:

Not a good time right now, because it's very HOT...and the whole state is on FIRE!!

Spring and Fall are the BEST times to visit northern AZ, (Sedona-Prescott-Cottonwood-Clarkdale-Jerome-Flagstaff, etc.), and yes, we would be happy to return the favor if you ever visit... :thumb:  :boozing:

*** UPDATE *** from Nolan Woodbury

Talked with Bob Johnson and he isn't sure if they'll do the rally or not. Like last year, I'm going to ride out anyway. It's only July, October is a ways off-

Hi Tom
I’m not planning on putting on a rally this year.  If people want to get together and make their own reservations then that will be it.  I may change my mind but as of now that’s going to be it.

I got this on my NH National Rally thread.

How's this for the N.A.R hypothetically just to get the ball rolling.  Weekend of the the 16th or the weekend before Halloween.  I'd like to make it a stopping point before going to National City to drop off "Popolo Puaa".  This would be his trip to the Pacific Moto Guzzi Refuge on the Big Island.  Then I'd fly out of San Diego back to Kona.  🤪

Putting air in the tires, bought a battery ... you get some idea of how often I ride these days ...
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

Too bad about no Lake Henshaw for October 2021... I attended all of the past N.A.R's there, and we had fun... It is a beautiful area to ride to in October,  and ride around, especially for us folks from Arizona...
Oh well..."ONWARD TO NEW DESTINATIONS!"  :thumb: :boozing:

Change of plans contingent on storing "Lehua" in the PHX area.  (Cal Touring 1400). The original plan was to do some riding based out of PHX then hit Lake Henshaw on the way to National City to ship out to Hilo.  Maybe a year delay in that plan.
