Happy with mods I did to Nevada
« on: July 05, 2021, 04:12:53 PM »
Few comments now 2021.

New tires feels much better (safer and bike is easier to handle) on gravel roads. So I got what I was looking for. I admit tires feels not as smooth on asphalt roads but I'm able to live with that right now. Not dissapointed.

New adustable clutch and brake levers (which were sold for Breva 750) luckily fit ok. Again I got what I was looking for (levers more close to handelbars). No doubt clearly more expensive ones would have probably felt better (tighter). For price these are ok and looks great.

Led lights have been installed. 7W are pretty bright.

Healtech GIpro X-type G2 gear indicator works ok.

Cheap tire pressure system seems to work as well.

A Fox,

We need pics!

Joe

As you wish

1.) Tires:
Front:

Rear:

2.) Handlebar
Left side: Clock, Temperature, Volts (battery) + Heated grips

Right side: Compass + Tire pressures

Middle: Navigator (TomTom)

3.) Gear indicator

4.) Brake and clutch levers

5.) Highway pedals

6.) Led-lights

7.) Extra switchers (led-colors)

8.) Guardian bells

9.) Central stand:

10.) Pedals set lower (also rear brake and gear switch) + motor oil temperature

11.) 12v socket (for navigator)

PS: As some might see, I put original black seat back. The single seat with backrest (below photo) will still need some ''developing'' (I want more adustment on it). Something to do next winter...

Arctic Fox,

That is a really good looking bike. It looks like you have it sorted out really well. I did have a chuckle though with your picture of the gear indicator. I recently bought my wife a new car and she drove around for months with the protective film over most of the interior. I slowly began peeling it away a piece at a time until it was finally removed.

Good looking bike. I am sure will have a good season on it.

I really like those tires MS Fox. Let us know how you like them. I would like to try a set like that on my Stone because I have to ride on dirt gravel roads frequently to get to the river house as well as many of un paved roads in the area there. I’m interested to hear how the preform on both asphalt and dirt/gravel roads.

Nice sensible mods to suit where you live.

One of the very few mods I did to my '03 Breva wa the changing out the levers to very similar to what you have put on.

I have very short fingers, and the adjustable levers have transformed the bike.  Because of the shape of the levers , not only can I now reach them but they actually give me more clutch throwout.

I have put in safe the original parts, so bike can be returned back to same as it left from factory.

About 400km full now. In the beginning (after winter) I was bit ''scary'' but soon it felt ok/comfortable => I remembered something from last year  :azn:
I try to ride much more. Short trips.

Sorry, what ''farkled'' means?

Anyway, bike starts to be fine (for me).

I also like my AGV sportmodular helmet. I admit, It does not feel as well made as my Schuberth C4, but it still seems to work well enough (what comes to noise, ventulations, internal sun visor etc.) plus I love the weight. The weight was the reason I actully bought it. Plus I assume AGV's double D-ring fastener might even better than Schuberth's quick realese strap?

Did your riding clothes keep you dry in the rain?

Haven't heard about AMRM before.
Rukka is supposed to be good - sounds Finnish to me, don't know if it is?

Quite nicely, but it was not heavy rain.

Rukka? LOL. Yes, it is great and Finland’s brand. Top notz. For prize of  Rukka jacket alone I’m able to buy AMRM jacket, trousers, gloves and that AGV helmet. Probably even my riding shoes (as I got those 50% discount 60euros). I just graduated less than year ago, worked since then but I have not that kind of money (Rukka) ... to put riding now. Thanks to this hot summer, next I’m planning to buy clothes for hot weather (mesh type), but hardly Rukkas :).
Sinisalo is another highly valued Finland's brand. Sweep opposite is much cheaper .... ''a consumer friendly brand''  (still not sure is it really Finnish even as they says so). Name sounds not.

You did a great job personalizing the bike. It will be fun to see if there is anything else you add going forward.

I also love those tires...did I miss what kind they are? I'd love to try some on my W650.
