How many of you take bottled water along on your adventures? Or maybe you simply pick up a bottle at the odd filling station along the way?
Generic ? Reverse osmosis ? Perrier ?

Each of my bikes has 2 bottles of water, the smallish ones, and a Life Straw, in case of a real emergency. I do some light, dirt and gravel road, adventure riding and sometimes don't see anyone for hours at a time.......better to be safe. I also bring some nuts and granola bars.

Other than a short jaunt I always have some bottled water with me. There are places in NM that you do not want to be without water.

I have a couple of aluminum water bottles I fill up at home. I try to avoid paying for water and making more plastic trash.

My Grandfather who raised four kids during the great depression would roll over in his grave if he knew I paid for bottled water! That said, there are always two (cheapest I can buy) waters and one sugar free gator aid in the top box. I have trouble keeping hydrated and I've seen what it does to your mind and body when you dry up a bit.

Gator or Powerade. If I plan ahead, it's two frozen in the old, insulated lunch bag
More often purchased at gas stops.
Quad cramps have been an issue for years.

We rarely buy the bottled water (Guzzi content here) - but reuse assorted plastic pop bottles. Freeze one, and stuff it in one of those soft side coolers with the rest.

2 Nalgene bottles filled with North Carolina mountain well water... one frozen and one right off the kitchen tap. My wife got me a little insulated lunchbox that matches my Breva's black/grey. The bottles tuck in there nicely with 2 apples and fit perfectly on my tail rack. I can drink a half gallon of water in a couple stops, so that does me pretty good. There are a few roadside springs dumping out on the shoulder of the road on a couple of my favorite riding roads, so easy to refill along the way if need be.

I reuse a plastic pop (coke, soda) or water bottle for...years sometimes. They get refilled at home with deionized, RO water. It's not like a plastic bottle will wear out. Get one that has a decent lid.
I hate buying water in a store; it is expensive and it is one more plastic bottle that would end up in the great gyre.

For longer rides, I carry a 40 oz Hydroflask. On a full-day ride, especially when temps approach 110°, I will add a few sugar-free sports drinks. I take advantage of free refills on ice water at every stop.
I've been caught by borderline mid-grade dehydration when riding home to Phoenix from a higher-elevation. It was only a hundred where we spent the day, but when we returned to the Phoenix metro area, the temps had reached about 117°. Once you add in the heat from vehicles and tarmac, it's closer to 125°. We pulled into a local market, bought a few sports drinks, and kept the staff company for over an hour while we rehydrated and cooled off. It was a miserable experience that I never wish to repeat!

Exactly...you can get a nice Hydroflask or equivalent. Double walled to keep drinks hot or cold...I carry one for coffee and one for water/cold drinks. Stays hot or cold all day long.
They come in different sizes as well, so you can pick what fits and how much you want. Some folks even fill up their growlers at local breweries and bring them home...nice and chilled!

It depends. Around here Dollar Generals are about everywhere. Makes a good place for a short break. Grab some walnuts or pistachio nuts, and a Bai coconut water. If I am planning on eating lunch out I will drink a lot of water with lunch.
If I am doing a dual sport ride I carry frozen water bottles bought by the case. I just can't pay convenience store prices for filtered water.

Water is indispensable in my travels. I don't like to use bottled water so I always bring my own water bottle. So I always prepare a water bottle holder (https://www.bikeshepherd.org/best-bike-water-bottle-holders/) on my bike or clip it to the side of my backpack. Depending on the distance, I usually bring 2-3 bottles.

I do the same and load up with ice. I can't stand luke warm water.

2 Kleen Canteen stainless bottles for short stuff, massive hydraflask for longer. I hate the litter of plastic bottles everywhere. Most fast food places will lrt me refill for free- an order of salty fries and a flask of water go along way.

I'm all over the place on this one. On trips I take a camelbak and refill at gas stops, restaurants, etc but will still do a gatorade or the like. For the weekly old farts wednesday ride I'll take a few water bottles or gatorade depending on daily temps, length/duration of the ride. The water bottles are from a cheap 24pk purchased at ww, grocery store, etc., yeah, very wasteful. I can't do exclusively water because it washes me out and I then get dehydrated...I know sounds crazy. What's crazy is buying bottled water at a gas station unless ur rich.
