OEM mounts of Breva 1200 Sport
« on: November 26, 2017, 09:07:49 PM »
I can't figure out how the OEM mounts work on this bike.
Anyone have a pic of the parts in place or send me a link to a fishe.

What "OEM mounts" are you referring to?

They were never supplied with panniers but can use the same mount as the Breva 1100 or Norge 1200.  They used Aprilia Futura bags (at least for the Breva).  I lost one on the 134 or 105 Freeway in LA once, lost all confidence in them after that.  They also warped in the sun.

You're much better of with Hepco & Becker bags (I prefer the 30 liter ones).

Here's a parts list for the Norge ones.

I cannot compare the Guzzi bags with HB.  However, I can say that the HB 30L Juniors and mounts have worked well for me for the past 8 years and 65,000 miles.  These, with a set of bag liners, make for a sturdy, functional set-up.  I found the Guzzi logos at one of our good suppliers, removed the HB logos with a piece of monofilament,  and installed the MG ones for a more 'factory' look.

I looked at the mounts last night.  I have the option to stick with HB and just buy a match 30L ( I have a large one and 1 small one now)  The HB are better suited for long distant travel.

The 1200 Sport joined the stable .. with the 98 Centauro and the 1400 California.  The bags on the HB bags on the Centauro should fit the Sport.

thanks
