Sounds like fun, I need to see if I can clear my calendar. Any dirt road adventures included in the Rides?
Alan,I will be joining you in Ouray. I don't know if I'll be on my V&II or the V85TT.There are several dirt road routes shown on the Butler map. From Norwood to Montrose, Sanborn Park Rd/Dave Wood Rd, 47Z/530/510. about 40 miles. IIRC two lane maintained dirt road.About half way on that road you can turn NW onto Divide Road, 402, 81 miles to Hwy 141. I took the fork to Gateway; I think it was steep in sections. I remember the Divide Road to be mostly one lane and not regularly maintained. PS: this is a hunting area.I rode these roads 15 or 20 years ago, and not since. I don't know current conditions except that Butler Maps shows them as Recommended Dirt Roads.Dan
I remember well the NAR Mike aka Rocker59 put on at Ouray a few years back, a great way to connect with the guys from your part of the globe and an excuse to buy a bike to get there.I doubt I will be there this time though.
I am planning on attending the Ouray rally again this year. After selling my Stelvio last year and being forced to chase everyone around at the Utah Rally last fall on my poor little Yamaha XT250, I have recently acquired a lightly used 2022 V7 Special being sold by Kballowe. Recent knee surgeries made the V7 hard for Kevin to ride so he listed it for sale and I snatched it up. Huzzah, I'm back on a Guzzi.!
I rode my 900 Kaw thru Ouray in 77.I rode up into a secluded spot on The outskirts of town and pitched my tent.Is it possible to do that today,I hate to make camping reservations?
