Current US prices: LeMans
« on: January 12, 2015, 09:47:55 PM »
G'day,

I'm looking at a US based LeMans but the exchange rate is killing me!

For those in the know what's the current market price range for a reasonable 850?

I know its a broad question, I'll be happy with a broad answer!

Thanks,

Mike

V7 Sport (needs a little work)

I've seen 3s starting around four grand and 1s up in the teens here in the Northwest. Don't see them very often.

Not an 850 though.

Le Mans III   844 cc   1981   1984

"The LeMans III was an evolution of Moto Guzzi’s sporting flagship. Made between 1981 and 1984 it was not a complete redesign of the LeMans, but was more than just a cosmetic make-over like the second-generation machine was. It featured a heavily updated engine with square, as opposed to the earlier round, cylinder heads and revised engine internals, along with aerodynamics shaped by Guzzi’s very own wind tunnel."

I still doubt the OP is talking about a LM3

If you can find a second gen 850 lemans that run for 10k I wouldn't hesitate too much.  Nice examples or first gen models are in the 15-20k range.  You may want to consider a CX100 and modify it to 850 specs although I woundn't throw anything away....

this one looks nice

If I understand the Euro to USD conversion correctly, these both seem to be very good prices.  I cannot say regarding your currency Mike.

Does the LeMans need to be US based...?

Thanks all for the feedback, much appreciated. I passed a great opportunity to pick one up early last year but didn't quite have the cash, since then I've been itching to pull the trigger on one.

Thanks Steph, I particularly like the one that Paul pointed out. I did even suggest to my partner we try and get 2 weeks in Italy!

Great point Rob, no need at all. I just had a better idea of the European market as I've been watching a while, stateside I had no idea.

As it is I'm hopefully finalizing details on one, for better or worse the close ratio box helped me decide! If this one doesn't work out then I might just keep my eyes on Italy.

Thanks again, the comprehensive feedback from the forum is appreciated.  ;-T
