Lady Lawyer, Oklahoma, White Cal Vintage
« on: February 11, 2015, 06:09:10 PM »
I don't know if she hangs out here, but hope so.  She had a white CalVin for sale about a year ago.  Would like to get in touch. Ma'am please PM me if you read this,

AND/OR if any of you know how to get in contact with her, please do on my behalf......or forward contact information to me.

Otherwise, I'm looking for a white CalVin as you may have guessed.  They are awfully hard to find, so if you know of one that is for sale, PM or otherwise post here.

Thanks,

Tom

That's been several years ago.  She works/worked in Fayetteville Arkansas.  Can't remember her name.

As far as I know, the bike is long-gone.

Arkansas on the left.  Texas on the right.  I don't see Oklahoma in the middle...

Last time I checked, Ark. was MOST of the east side of Okieland, and to the west, that ugly dry part of Texas with that 72 oz steak and Bob Wills' hometown of Turkey, Tx.

Yeah. I guess you're right.  One does have to drive LOTS of Oklahoma to get from Fort Smith to Amarillo...

I'm driving with my daughter from Boston to San Francisco. Left Saturday morning 15f and lots of snow. Went to Ellis Island and Gettysburg. Spent Monday night at BB Kings Blues Club in Memphis. I've never seen as many trucks on the road as we did on I40 thru Arkansas. Drove from Elk City to Flagstaff today. Had a steak for lunch at The Big Texan in Amarillo. Tomorrow night in Zion NP then thru Death Valley Friday and home Saturday.
I'd much rather ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

Todd at MPH in Houston had a white Cal Vin for sale before he passed away last summer.
No idea if it's still available though...

No? I am very sorry to drop that bomb then. Sadly, diabetes finally caught up with him last July.

sorry to learn about todd.

yes dusty blues are a pretty big thing here, especaly with us middle ages. got a mate that's a lot older than me that's right into the scene, used to play harp for the group dusty Rhodes and the blues mobile, a housetruckers band that was very good. another good blues man here is bullfrog rata. nothing nicer than a laid back setting, with good local talent playing ;-T

Little Rock is the convergence of I-40 with I-30 from Texas and US-67 from Texas and Missouri, and US-65 from Louisiana.

Memphis is the crossroads of I-55 and I-40.  Plus, Memphis is a major intermodal point for the railroads.  West Memphis is just one huge truck stop.

So yeah, lots of truck traffic on the highways in Arkansas.

As you noticed, it thins out as you go west from Oklahoma City.  Mainly refrigerated and cattle haulers out there, since most things dry are on the rail.

Until 2014, the Texas side was dry and the Arkansas side of the street was wet.

Thanks for all the  input.  Right on about the Lady being in eastern OK; near Talequah, think.

I'm on to the one in Virginia.  Contacted him and I really think he though I was a scammer from Mexico.  Not sure if he knows NM is part of the US. He's got a guy coming to look at it on Monday.  Didn't really want to talk until he's let that guy have a look see.

I'll check with MPH and see if they still have the white CalVin. It would be a whole lot easier for me to get to Houston than It would to have on shipped from VA, although I had an SP shipped once and everything went OK.

Located in SE NM. Carlsbad to be exact.

Not in a hurry, can wait.  How about some details, like miles, general condition, etc. You can PM me if you 'd rather than post it here. Email on profile is no longer valid and I don't know how to change it;  Current:  tfhansen88220@gmail.com

I have seriously been looking  at the  coming Eldo 1400.  Couldn't help but notice you have a 1400 Touring.  How do you like it compared to the CalVin?  I see mostly more weight and more power.  The big guy has some stellar reviews and I know this board is divided, but who cares what they think unless they own or have owned both.  Love the styling on the new Eldo.  My close friends don't.  But I am old and nostalgia gets to me every now and then.

Really considering one more bike before I croak........ maybe, maybe not..........trying hard to decide.
