NGC but worth a read-The plane-builder of South Sudan
« on: February 12, 2015, 12:54:20 PM »
For all you wrenchers (sic) out in Guzziland be you a MCist restoring or building a cafe from a scrape heap or to the many aero wrench guys; this is a little tidbit worth reading.
Someone needs to scoop this guy up and fly him to the US and put him in aeronautical school. Think of what he has accomplished on a mechanical diet that is what in farming would be called subsistence farming. Think of what many of us do in our garages with far far more tools and materials. I only hope this guy lives to realize his dreams and may that hand built plane be airworthy.

Kind of reminds me of the British prisoners during WWII who built a gilder in the attic of the building they were in to use in an escape.

That's how the Wright Brothers did it!

Doesn't sound like the guy WANTS to come to the USA - not everyone does, you know.   Sounds like he'd rather succeed there at home.   Hope he makes it!!

It's a shame, though, that he can't just get that ultralight out on the back of the farm somewhere and fly it where the "authorities" aren't watching!

Well, I hope he gets one.   Seems like a lot of universities that offer AE degrees would LOVE to have a guy like this come and get a degree ....
