An interesting light plane.  You may be familiar with the manufacturer but they're new to me.

10 rotation, are they nuts?

Many decades ago I took a special tour at Mather AFB in California.  Part of the tour was a turn in the spin chair then listening to an IFR rated pilot in zero visibility who went down about 50 miles away near Fairfield.  He was actually pretty high when it all started.

It was a pretty long tape as the pilot knew he was in trouble early, called and asked for help and was recorded.  The tape ran for a number of minutes.  In the end the pilot was screaming as he augured in.  That tape was very hard to listen to.  The pilot knew what he had to to he just didn't have the strength of will to do it.

I hear "spin" and I think of that tape.

I'm sorry for the guy, but if he didn't have "the strength of will" to do what needed to be done, he wasn't much of a pilot. <snapping suspenders> Back in the day,I was taught to recover from spins under the hood using needle, ball, and airspeed before I ever got my license. That's the way my instructor and great pilot Tommy Robinson (RIP last year) rolled.

If all else fails let go of all the controls and many (NOT ALL) airplanes will recover from a spin on their own. Fun video to watch. I am still of the old school that spin training should be a mandatory part of obtaining an private license.

Where does the cat sit ?

In the wing of course.
Cool clip, that. I figured the passenger would grab at it.

The Ol' Man bitch-slapped me with a left-right Fear-O-God/Respect The Physics by pushing our little 150 into a spin when I was a kid. He later told me he had to force the issue as the little beastie simply didn't want to stay spun if it had enough altitude.

Still, to this day it remains as the single greatest example of "know your limitations" as it was so counter intuitive to me to do what was necessary (if necessary) to correct out.

I thought - as youth is prone to drive one - that I had all the bases covered as I'd been ghost flying for some time. Turns out the Ol' Man's lesson was due to concerns that my antics of sneaking off in the family cars and trucks at 13 would translate to joy-ridding the 150 behind my undeserved confidence.
