She had to take the MSF in order to get the license. According to her mom she is not interested in any protective garments that don't fit that cool description but she was wearing boots, gloves, leather jacket, etc. and all stylish. We put on our Stich's and I could see she was not interested.

Black leather might well fit the cool criteria, as well as offer protection. With luck she'll grow into it. Some of those early promo photos for the V7 & the Davida girl might help.

Long ago I rode a 77 Yamaha  xs 650 from the Canadian border to the Mexican border and back.  The other two guys had a 750 bmw and a cb 750 Honda.  We had no trouble with any of the bikes, and passed a lot of cars on the way.  I now own that same bmw and would do the same trip with it now.  750's are fine for traveling!

750's were big bikes at one time. Put 26,000 trouble free miles on a CB 750.

Well, the cagers think we are all weird, so there is that.  I have always thought that females riding, wrenching, being independent, was cool.  My wife had her own bike before I met her.
I'm aware that this next statement might be a generalization, and I mean this in a positive way, but I believe that female riders have a different appreciation for riding than male riders.  More introspective perhaps?
Anyway, you were cool all along...... :thumb:

My apologies. I should have made it clearer that I was being sarcastic.  I have a V7, and ride it everywhere, including cross country.  I prefer it to bigger bikes like my previous FJR or GS1200.

I was poking gentle fun at the folks who think a 50hp, 750 cc bike is somehow inadequate to tour on.  Not true.  50 hp is plenty in my opinion, at least for solo riding, and the absence of excess weight is a pleasure each moment.

Sounds like fun!!  How cool!  Wondering about the possibility of being a geezer hipster...it could happen!

After 50 years & 59 bikes w/4 in the garage currently you can't convince me that anyone stating a 750 is a starter bike or to small for touring doesn't have a self inflated opinion of their experience & knowledge or, hopefully, not knowing them, a dry, easily mis-understood sense of humor. I'm proud of her! She can ride the V7 anywhere she chooses!

I thought I was a hipster for 40 years already.  Ever since I read all the Lenny Bruce books I could get my hands on.   I thought the new tattooed coffee bar types with the tight pants and beards were Amish Hipsters, but what do I know??  (Just joking and not trying to be "hipper than thou")

Good on her, great to see new blood. It wasn't that long ago a 750 was a mainstream big bike. Learners were on 125s and now there is so much choice out there.

Excellent.  I'd like to try one with a smart phone signaling that text messages are waiting as the bait.
