Dan, is a special licence needed ?
No special license needed. The new productions Thompson's are semi-auto and have a 16.5" barrel so all you need is lots of cash. If you want the model 1927 (finned barrel and drum magazine) plan to spend about $2000, the M1 is about $1400. I'm doing the paperwork now so I can get the barrel cut down to the military spec of 10.5".
For an "original" Tommy Gun, you better ad another zero. If you're lucky.
Used to consider myself a collector/shooter but gravitated towards reloading a while back. Was mainly into single and double action revolvers and lever guns but went in several directions when I found something that interested me. Now I consider myself a reloader that dabbles in guns. Current obsession is the .327 Federal Magnum which has led me to buy 4 revolvers of said caliber in the last 5 months.
Yup.Black ones preferably. + Handguns and revolvers+ Odd balls (like OA93 or Springfield Armory folding Survival M6)+ Few Sniper/Target rifles (Sako TRG22, M28-76, Sniper M39)+ WW2 Finnish military rifles and pistols, mainly Mosin Nagants and various Lahti's...(M31's, M35)+ shiny ones, if I cannot buy black ones.....
Do you have a Lahti? Anything resembling a Luger is steam punk cool now. Did you notice the impression in the holster?
Marines can never have enough guns. I have 18 at last count. None with paper trail but the last one--I like pre-1964 Winchesters (have 5) and last June bought a spiffy 1952 Mdl. 52 .22LR target rifle with 16x Weaver T-16 scope. It sits in my safe alongside the Mdls 1890, 63, 71 and 24 (16ga). Two custom 03 Sporters, 1873 Trapdoor Springfield carbine, 1865 Spencer 11 shot repeating carbine,1838 Edwin Wesson (brother of Frank of S&W fame) percussion rifle (.38 or .40 cal), plus a herd of 1950s-70s Smiths and some older Colts and somehow a Glock 30 snuck in there and a Ruger "Bearcat", to go with the Ruger Mini-30. I think that's all of them. Oh, the Remington 742 Fieldmaster.22. Maybe that's all of them. Well, I think so. It's kinda dark in the back of the gun safe, which is right next to my 04 Stone Touring (Guzzi content?).Ralph

A nice present for myself.
