Tappet orientation?
« on: March 19, 2016, 06:13:44 PM »
I really hate to not include a pic, doesn't seem I can from my phone, but I was wondering how my tappets sit in my 850t. They have 2 holes on each side and a slightly smaller hole between the 2 of them, it sits a little lower, and there is only one. 2 big holes and 1 smaller for 3 total. Can anyone help?

Are you talking in the block itself or the cylinder-head? I'm confused even a little bit more than I normally am.

Tappets? Are you talking about the rocker arms and shafts?

you can't post pics directly from phone to here, they must be hosted on the web somewhere else and linked here.

There are 4 that go straight into the block before the cylinders, they are called cam followers in my manual but it won't say which way they are supposed to sit

They float and turn so you don't have to worry about orientation when putting them in. Just make sure they aren't pitted on the face. They can be reground for not much $$ if needed.
