Do you all just hang around on Saturday? It's a 130 mile trip ,and a friend and I might ride over for a half a day to say hello and then ride home...

Larry (Lash) and I will be with John Wells and get there Friday afternoon.  That may, however, be the extent of my and Larry's rally time, as we have to head to Atlanta -- and then Larry to Ormond Beach -- on Saturday a.m.

John is staying, however.  Too wussy to camp, Larry and I will be at the HIE in North East on Friday night.

We may come back to the rally on Saturday morning to wake up the late sleepers and harass the hungover by being annoyingly cheery, then go '"skiing" in Erie -- i.e., visit Kathi's dad, a Kolakowski, etc.  :-) -- before punching south on a two-plus wiggly ride to Georgia and Florida.

FWIW, if anyone is in area (meaning mostly central Pennsylvania from Needmore to Coudersport) and wants to meet us for a few miles or meals (our wives would disdain  :thewife: ), we may launch from here on Wednesday, with a view to riding as many Pennsylvania and N.Y. back roads as we can find.  May even do a border crossing at Fort Erie into Canada just so we can say we did.  Yes, insane.

No real routes in mind, but every time we are up that way, we have a fine time.  Folks understandably rave about W.V. roads, but if I had to choose only one state's back roads, I'd likely vote for Pa.'s Happily, that's not an election I have to make.

Bill, if you plan on crossing into Canada, you WILL need to have a passport with you. Just an FYI.

A fly in the ointment.

So ... Larry arrived yesterday late afternoon, right on schedule.  Would expect nothing less from an old P3 driver.

Then, again, in keeping with naval tradition, he refueled immediately after taxiing in.

Ah, great, but this a.m., in the course of helping me get the EV up on the lift and out of the way of our Norges and packing, he decides to take a break ...

So here I sit at our urgent-care center.  Larry is in back -- pun noted -- to see if he can some serious enough drugs to "cure" him without ruining the ride!

Ah, the healing properties of bourbon.

Larry professes to be quite healed this morning.

We are off now to WMS to have Mike the Great Guzzi Wrench fix a weepy fork seal on Larry's Norge.  Then back to bench racing (and possibly, later, more bourbon  :boozing:) before tomorrow's launch nawth.

Sooo... I've got a full day of work, a borderline front tire, and 300mi of slab and critters between me and the rally.  Will I get run off if I show in a Ford instead of on a Guzzi?

And what is the latest I can show up?

Soccer tourney season for me.
I'll stop down Friday to drop off a few goodies for you folks and then again REAL early Sunday to try and meet a few faces after knowing them on this site.

sat are important games all day with a fair bit of travel but I won't complain.  It keeps the youngest one out of trouble!

I was hoping to meet you, Bill.
Looks like it'll be another time.  If you attend the VA rally that's my good friend Bob as rally master this year.
I'll meet up with him late Sept. for several days of twists and turns!

He's the one who planted the Guzzi seed in me-it made me sell 3 perfect motorcycles and purchase two more!

Just an update from the ride to the rally.

Larry and I rode up to John in Pa's place yesterday.  Not a long ride, but what a hoot of a route.

Larry is still hurting from pushing my EV -- he is even muttering about suing me! -- so Dr. John "worked" with him.

Then, it was time to scare the women and neighbors.  On the bright side, it's hard to miss a lake, and full auto makes a great, if brief, shot group.

We did a 200+ miler in today, with lunch at Renova, shown here.  At least 199 of those miles were stupendous -- thanks, John, for leading us -- pavement ribbons, e.g., SR 144, etc.  Yee ha.

Then, back at John's, it was time for "Motor Stables" before putting the sweet beasts to bed in readiness for the ride to Westfield tomorrow.
