Had a great time, good Guzzi folks. Lost a nights sleep, cold temp and bruised rib so I didn't feel sharp enough for Mike's ride. Even got rid of all that beer, went to FL. Shot the breeze w/lots of riders especially the sidecar rider, low and behold I knew him from over 30yrs ago going to Guzzi rallys, Guzzi Guy Roberts. Hell, he's still got the Guzzi w/scull on fender.
Quite a few WG members there. I didn't hear how many were there for the weekend but as always there were the day pass riders from the area. TWO is a busy place on the weekend, great place for a rally. Much thanks to Wayne & Mike and all the TWO crew AND all the GREAT Guzzi riders that came.

I didn't get a good count. We had about 20 people.

A good ride to a good BBQ place.

I wish I could have joined the party.  All the kids/grandkids descend upon me this weekend every year.  Gold Rush is their deal.  I rode up this afternoon, but most were gone by then.

My first Georgia Campout lived up to my expectations!  Not only were those N. Georgia roads a delight, it was nice to finally meet many of the people I have exchanged posts with on Wild Guzzi for years.  Now I'm back home after a mere 1400 miles round trip.  Don't let anyone tell you that a V7 is too small for touring.

stopped in Asheville on the way to GA....this is a local wine bar.

note the 'motorcycle only' parking in Asheville...sweet.

then a night in Helen, GA.  If you don't already know, Helen considers itself to be an Alpine village so Octoberfest is a big deal.

finally pulled into TWO

to meet Guzzi Steeve

and Bill Hagan

and Tazio, who I had not seen since a Florida rally about 10 years ago

Bill and I swapped V7s for about 20 miles.  I'm really impressed with the new 6 speed tranny.  Overall the V7II feels more refined than my V7.  The many small upgrades were obvious.

oddly enough there were fewer V7s than Grisos or Stelvios.

we were also entertained by a fly-in at the nearby grass strip.  I missed the STOL demonstration.  Tazio said it was amazing.

campers had lots of room, clean bathrooms and showers, and great caveman TV (campfires)

and the non campers did OK too.

there were only a couple places where trees were well spaced for a hammock.  I'm happy to say I got to pick the very best one.

Rain was in the forecast for late Sunday.  As a result I only rode about 100 miles on the BRP and then slabbed it north and east in order to outrun the rain.  The Parkway was 'interesting' with all the leaf peepers plodding along at 30 mph while low clouds slowly crawled up the side of the mountains at tree top level.  Oh, and it was damn cold along the ridgeline.  Heated gear was much appreciated.

I really enjoyed the rally this year, partly because it was the first year I stayed at the event site instead of riding in on Saturday for the ride but mainly because of the great people.I live in the area so get to enjoy the best roads in the South East,Two Wheels of Suches (thanks Bill,Jenny,Skip and all the hard working folks that made our stay great) and Jim's Smokin' Que (the best BBQ in the N GA mountains) all the time.People are what make a rally special to me and I enjoyed meeting and making new friends,Jim (enjoyed picking on the porch with you),Frank,Pete and Dauphin and seeing all the usual suspects Wayne,Michael,Guzzi Steve,David,Michael M.,Joe,Bill,Bob,Paul and Michael's wife Lisa!

Steve:  Thanks for asking!  I changed the blinker fluid, adjusted the spark plug belts to within .0000000002mm and put in a new formidgipickle pin...........

Same noise on the way home....  I have it jacked up now, wheel removed and will futher investigate soon.  I know a place with dynamite and c4 so maybe that will work.  Il get to the bottom of it, and it might just be a bad tire.....  Again, thanks for asking.   :bike-037:

Check the muffler bearings too.
Have you switched to fall air in the tires?

Maybe where YOU'RE at .... here it's record breaking highs and fire danger - I don't run fall air, I use the all seasons synthetic. It costs a lot more, but it's worth it for the convenience.

As for spark plug belts, the Bassa has the old style handshake connectors. Things were simpler back then.
That's the combustion chamber of the turbo shaft. It is supposed to be on fire. You just don't usually see it but the case and fairing fell off.

First Suches and First Guzzi gathering.  Fun folks, and the weather held the whole time WELL until 90 miles from home when it poured and the V7 started missing on one cylinder 30 miles from home, cleared and repeated a few times.  It did clear and ran fine the rest of the way home.  It was WET!!

I forgot all about the muffler bearings, but I did replace the spoke nibulators, AND I added fresh coil springs inside the brake master cylinders.  Man, this baby is gonna run like all get out when Im done with her.       :thumb:
