A lot of parking lot conversations have been started by the two V7's I currently own, as well as the 2009 V7C I had earlier. I've had the same experiences with my vintage bikes of all makes. Most think the V7's vintage bikes. One particular instance does stick out in my mind. I'm on the 2009 V7C waiting for a traffic light to change when this elderly Italian man runs into the middle of the street, very excitedly gesturing with his hands. In a thick Italian accent, he tells me had "had one just like it about 40 years ago back in Italy". The light changed, I didn't get a chance to talk further with him. In retrospect, I should've pulled over, I'll bet I'd have gotten to hear some stories.
It all sounded good until twice she seemed to bring up Gold Wings as an Italian bike!?!
It COULD be that the young lady was way ahead of you.The Aermacchi Ala d'Oro (Gold Wing) of 1968:You just never know about these things until they happen ..... !Lannis
I’ve had plenty of Harley folks say “cool bike” when I’m on the Guzzi.
Similar thing happened 2 years ago. My wife and I were riding back country roads of Amish country. Pulled off to the side of the road to watch 10 hot air balloons in the sky. An elderly guy comes running out of his house, arms waving Dont leave! He yells. Said hes owned several Guzzi over the years and we talked for a few minutes!
also a similar thing happened to me.Last summer as I just got home and was getting to wash my bike from a short trip around the trail, a group of family walked by my drive way.One of the older gentleman which I assumed was the grandpa started to walk toward me and asked me how old the bike was...I told him 2015 and he said his dad had something similar when he was living in Italy back in the 80s...and also he noticed the eagle shape badge.we were going to start a conversation but one of the younger lady (guessing his daughter) started calling him and dragged him away...oh he was looking so sad...I am guessing he is one of them giving up motorcycle for the family type...
someone (from WG?) left their gopro rolling and captured this which I edited just for fun.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DjBw7sO5h8&feature=youtu.be
