  • Not my real name
Do dirt bikes count?  If so, I kept a '74 CZ 250 enduro to ride trails with my kids until I moved to Alaska in 1990.  If not, I have bought nothing but Guzzi loop and Tonti street bikes since 1974.  My daily driver, a 76 Convert, wears historical plates.  I bought it in 1978.  I had a few Brit bikes from before my first Guzzi that were stolen or sold before '78, but I've bought no others.

From   1990 till a little over two years ago I rode only airheads - or an R11S for three years. Twenty six months ago I got the 77T3 and ever since have been either riding it or the LM1000 that showed up 18 months ago. I've got various airhead in running condition, or needing something, that just sit waiting for the obsession to die down. Don't know how long they'll have to wait...

It wasn't the new Guzzis that attracted me several years ago. I've actually been interested in them since the 70s, but I thought they weren't dependable, and besides, never had the money (not that I ever saw any for sale) or enough inclination to make it happen. Some discussions on Adventure Rider sparked the flame and here I am now. No, I'm not into the new stuff - I prefer carburetors and simple electrical systems.

Since 1978 when I bought my LeMans..love at first sight! Went to Cycle Mart in Attleboro MA never having heard of a Moto Guzzi, saw an advertising poster on the wall and told Steve to get me one ASAP. $3,250 later I became introduced to my beautiful Italian sweetheart and the relationship has only gotten better over the years.

One day.

My beloved Laverda went to its new home yesterday. It was time and it was a fair deal.
So for the first time in 32 years of continuous Guzzi ownership they are the only brand in the garage.
Moto Guzzi for the win!!

That Laverda was a pretty bike; I enjoyed seeing it at Raleigh every year.

But time does march on ....

Since I got my Norge in '08 I've started drifting into "nothing but Guzzi" mode and didn't know it was happening.
I did briefly consider selling it at the three year mark but went off it and can't even imagine why now.
As a utility bike, I'll ride anything (XJ 900, Bandit....etc) but none of them feel like "my" bike anymore except the Norge. I haven't really bonded with my Mk 2 Le Mans strangely.
I'm sure it's a function of what you've done and where you've been that cement the relationship.
I'm absolutely certain I'll never buy another (new) bike that isn't a Guzzi.
To answer the question, I can't claim to ride "only Guzzies" but in the spirit of your question....?
10 years.

Got my first one in 2007.  An '04 B750, which was the gateway drug.

I have ridden only Guzzi since 1972 when I bought my first one. Prior to that I owned and rode BMW, Kawasaki and Montsa.

Since 2004...what? 14 or so years. Excepting the Yamaha Sero I drive around the farm to keep an eye on the livestock. Can't use a Guzzi for that.

I cant answer the poll because I have too many marquees around.

My long term goal is to thin the herd down to only Guzzi's.

On a similar vein.  I was with some riding friends earlier this week.   Over burgers I posed the question, "if you could only own one brand of bike and it had to satisfy your needs for vintage and modern, what would it be?"    As much as I love my antique Harleys I answered MG.  Honda, Ducati, and Triump were the other responses.

In all fairness, I have only had Moto Guzzi's in my stable for about twenty years. But my wife just had to have an 86 K75 that I have actually grown to enjoy.
