Does anyone have an idea what the four M5 threaded holes are for under the v7 iii seat?

I put in M5 screws, ran some blue tape between, installed on the bike and it doesn't look like it hits the fender. So I'm thinking storage module in the making.

On my Racer seat, these are where the brackets that hold the seat cowl attaches.

That totally makes sense!
Thank you for clarifying.

Still gonna make a little storage compartment with knurled screws.

I've been thinking along the same lines. This would be a handy way to carry registration and insurance documents. Please post a description and pictures of your design when completed. TIA.

The original seat on my V7E5/850 has a M5 Allen wrench attached to the underside via two molded-in plastic clips.  I used the tool to remove the two  M5 screws that hold on the seat strap and put the strap and the screws into storage.  I only ride solo and never liked the strap, which I usually ended up sitting on.
