Tonti Fender Bracket Needed
« on: September 22, 2020, 10:39:28 PM »
I need the back bracket for the FRONT fender of a 83 G5. It mounts to the horizontal studs on the inside of the forks unlike the 78 Convert which has vertically oriented studs. I already scavenged the bracket off my 78 Convert parts bike only to discover it wont work. If someone knows when this bracket design changed or what models it is on, I would like to know that also.
 Thanks,
John

The bracket is specific to the G5, but also maybe to the T4 though not 100% on that. All G5 models have it that way starting from the beginning. It's a very difficult part to find and there are no repros. I believe there is a used one on eBay at this time, but it's cracked (they all seem to split where they mount horizontally to the lowers). Mine was also cracked there but it was nicely welded by the previous owner and seems to be holding up well.

Edit: I tried to find it, but must be gone. Pretty sure it was this seller: https://www.ebay.com/usr/motorradteilehannover

Groover, thanks for the info. I hammered and drilled and ground the Convert bracket until it fit, but was too tall in back making the front of the fender too low. I will pursue repairing the original bracket.
 Thankyou
John
