This one ended earlier today as well:

I found this Laverda SF2 gas tank in the swap meet section at British & European Classic Motorcycle Day. Too cheap to pass up, so I bought it.

It has a dent in the left side and some rust inside, but overall it's very solid.

It fits on a Tonti frame pretty well, so unless a Laverda guy really needs it, I'll use on a future Guzzi "special" project.

That red RGS is a nice bike, I saw it in the parking lot of a Vintage swap meet a couple weeks ago in Vancouver B.C. Wolfgang Haerter serviced it and can probably provide an independent review of condition. Its been for sale for a while and the seller is probably motivated to part with it.

They're all interesting in their own way.  I've never had a Laverda, I toy with the idea but current prices have pushed me into other Italian bikes with less agricultural performance.  If I were buying from this group, the green 1200 is strangely attractive...  probably because of its originality.

Another interesting bike is in the background of the green 1200 advert - a metallic blue Darmah.  These were a small batch (13 bikes if I remember correctly) that were maneuvered into the US by labeling them as 1982 models when in fact they were made in 1983.   The importer at that time was in Texas and I think sold mostly the VM diesel engines that were Ducatis meager bread and butter in the period just before Cagiva took over.
