Cedar Vale Sept 8-12 gathering
« on: July 21, 2021, 10:11:45 AM »

Technically this is an adventure rider rally , but in 2018 and '19 we had several Guzzi riders attend . This year John Henry , JC85 , Gliderjohn , Davedel44 , Moto Chuck 250 , RHAT , Smithswede , and maybe Wes Stephens along with a couple of other Guzzi types will be there . It is a fundraiser for Cedar Vale just like the May rally , we run it almost exactly the same way as the Guzzi event .

In previous years we have had attendees from California , Washington , the East Coast , Chicago , Canada , even a guy who comes from New Zealand. This year depending on a couple of things we have no control over we might not have some of the foreign visitors , although 3 Canadians have committed along with the Kiwi .

If you are interested shoot me a PM . We run it under WG rules , made everyone agree to that back in 2018 so it is very peaceful .

It's a fun group of people and Cedar Vale is always good for the soul. Don't have Marley to bring anymore but sounds like there will be some new dogs to meet and greet. Come check it out.

We had 50 in 2019 , probably that many again this year . The liquor store is in the same place it was in May , as are the pies and catfish .

Ok, Sultan, how many of the 50 are still alive?

<scratches head> All of them as far as I know , it is a younger group overall . JC85 probably won't be the youngest , at least not by much . Dave , a couple of the ladies coming in from the West coast and I will probably stay over a few days extra . If the border is open , the lady from Canada is the VP of their version of the AMA and has ridden in like 30 countries .

so, since they're still alive, claim success?

John , I'm not understanding , why would most of them not still be alive , it was only 2 years ago ?

My original question, "How many of the 50 are still alive?"

I think you succeeded!  Must've been a good rally!    :thumb:

Only one performance award and one big Husqvarna that had to be rescued in Colorado , fortunately he had already planned to travel in from there with a guy from the state so no big deal . he made it back to Washington after we changed the battery . Oh , and one rider from Kansas who got lost turning onto 166 . Cedar Vale , so remote even Kansans don't know where it is .

We get a small contingent from Edmond/Guthrie , one from Tulsa , 4 or so from NWA , and a few from Kansas . Two of my favorites are a couple from Georgia .

Despite the unruly reputation some of these boys have , they don't struggle at all not talking about certain things during the event , WG rules work when applied .

Back to things I am an expert in

We are hoping the museum is open by Sept , at this time we don't yet know . The little parade and gathering at the new veteran's park we did in May was very popular with the locals , for the kids in town seeing 35 motorbikes go by was a kick , even some of the adults were quite pleased . So I think we will do that again in Sept , considering how hard the locals work for us it seems a small ask , right ?

It would be really cool to see 10 products from Mandello in Hewins park , pretty good way to spread the word , and several from the ADV group have expressed anticipation over seeing some Moto Guzzis .
