Hi to all, Just want to write that after becoming complacent about the great Guzzi reliability with 110 K plus miles the old girl let me down. When I rolled her out for a tire pressure check on the center stand before heading out to the Council Grove rally rear wheel rotation wasn't smooth. I hadn't noticed anything wrong the day before, but after warm up ride of 10 miles the jerky rotation turned into a clunk. Anyway new parts are on the way from Jim Figgins at Ned's Auto in Riverside Iowa and all will be fine next week. Thanks for reading, and am sorry I missed my Kansas neighbors.

Nice to find that in your own driveway and not halfway to Kansas.

Don't neglect to change the UJ support bearing at the same time. They cost pennies and will wear/dry out over time.

Pulled the U-Joint on my 49K mIle '98 V11EV. All the spider bearings were fine BUT the rear yoke was almost 2 millimeters loose in the carrier bearing. That explained the vibrations at 60. A fair amount of the wear was on the bearing inner race!
Replaced carrier bearing and universal. All is once again smooth at speed
