sachse ignition problems
« on: April 12, 2021, 04:10:51 PM »
...has run great on my Lemans for about 5 years... Today it has dropped a cylinder. And it's my only transport right now...

I put it in test mode and it happily gives me a big fat spark at both plugs, so I know all my wiring and coils are good.

Upon checking the pickup sensor, I noticed that only one LED is lighting up.

So there's something bad on the PCB I guess?

Anyone have any idea how to diagnose/fix it?

Seems like such a simple piece I'd be surprised if the fix was tough, but I'm a bit stuck trying to reverse engineer/understand how it works.

I'm afraid I can't give you a fix but I just installed one on my 1400 engined LMIV which I bought direct from Elektronic Sachse and on their site all components are available individually. I didn't go there just now but it seems the circuit board wasn't over the top pricey it was the main module that cost the most. They DHL shipped it to me super fast and the price was without vat. I only timed mine to the one cyl and didn't even realize it had 2 leds. Other than mixing up the coil leads on my first start attempt I am very happy with it.

Sounds like the LED has given up the ghost....get in touch with Marco . He responded very quickly when i had an issue with some of his gear.
Have you tried to clean it ?
