Probably listed in the wrong section. It doesn't matter if it's illegal in California, that isn't the criteria that gets items pulled and users suspended. Ebay will use arbitrary reasons to suspend users and delist items. The text used in the item title and description can get something delisted when a nearly identical item does not because it was titled different.A listing under "Historical Police Memorabilia" would have resulted in success, unless there were other reasons for the suspension.http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Brass+knuckles&isNewKw=1&mfs=GOCLK&acimp=0&_trksid=p2053742.m2428.l1313.TR11.TRC2.Xbrass+knuckles&sqp=brass+knucklesOr try the jewelry section?
The suspension was just for a few days, but with it came a warning that they could rescind my "privileges" entirely for further infractions.Ironically, that day I mailed a rifle, and also received a pistol, through the mail (I've got a C+R FFL). So I can't believe the *(&%^ I'm getting for a piece of brass that has less lethal force than a tire iron.
EBay gets to decide what they will allow to be sold. If they don't allow you to sell what you want, use a different business.
They aren't going to suspend you forever and if they do who cares open another account if you wish. Ebay gets paid by you buying/selling on their site. If they suspend you they don't get anymore money.
Perazz, I'd rather not open a new account, as I like to think I've got a good reputation there so that buyer's can trust me. I merely bristle at the new "norm" for what people decide is good and bad. Particularly since motorcycles are viewed as bad by many. Motorcycles are the tobacco of the auto motive world; i.e. additional resistrictions because of the health burden put on the greater population.
In the day of old when money orders/checks were the preferred method of payment feedback was much more important. It was hard or impossible to get your money back from an shady seller to a better rating possibly meant the seller was trustworthy. Now with credit cards and PayPal the seller rating is not nearly as important. If I get screwed as a buyer its now the CC or PP battle to get their money back Right wrong or indifferent that is how it is.
Ratings are not only related to payment issues, but whether the product was as represented, was it damaged or falsely advertised, etc. The fees you pay to reach a massive audience anywhere in the U.S. seem quite reasonable compared to the cost of going and sitting all day at a flea market or just using your local Craiglist which is a much more limited audience. Is there really an objection to paying a few dollars in fees as a commission when you can sell a $100 item?
If you only knew the fees rip-off-bay/ pay-punk has.
Also, sellers are required to refund a returned item for any reason within 14 days. Then again, sellers can't leave negative feedback period! Some buyers are down right nasty...When I sell items now, I never leave feedback.
Try using Paypal to buy a Confederate flag, no can do.
