If the exchange rate is followed, it is kinda in line, (22KUSD) albeit a bit high , but  given that  it's a  asking price , its not too far off in terms of
where values  for  the 1000S  are  headed. ( which should make  you red suspender wearing 1000S owners happy)  Not unlike   current BAT auctions anyway, where well heeled buyers pay super  high prices. ( BTW , still  too rich for my blood)

Thats over $21k US... I know values are up on these, but unless you had absolutely PERFECT factory paint and uncracked sidecovers and perfectly maintained restored/polished everything else... I believe it's out of line.  Even for the big valve engine.

Especially if it's not a greenframe...  green is the money color and the greenies gotta be twice as desirable as the red or orange stripe & black-frame bikes....

Beautiful bike, kind of pricey but not outrageous IMHO.

45k mileage would probably put a lot of collectors off.

That said the engine running gear is capable of double that easy and it's obviously no garage queen, which is a good thing.

Condtion does looks fantastic surely nobody could deny it's a gorgeous thing that they just don't make like that anymore.

If I had the cash and lived in Oz I'd be on the phone, no pockets in a shroud.

The seller is basing his price on this sentence in the ad:

"My bike is similar to the rare recent sale of a 1991 version, that sold on eBay for $32,200."

Lightening can strike twice.

Pricey IMHO. I had a green frame green paint version that was acquired from a fellow WG member here in Canada, under 2000 km, spent 25+ years in the original owners house, probably the lowest mileage and best condition anywhere. It just didn’t do it for me, far to perfect to ride and it had no personal connection to me. It went to another WG member in the USA who also passed it on. No idea where it is now but it was trading hands for well under $20K a couple years back.

Years ago, at the NM Datil Rally, a guy from Texas had a '93 1000S, (green & black), similar to this one, which was a total "nut & bolt" restoration...and reportedly sold for $20,000!!!

I thought that was bad enough back then!

In March of 2020, this one on BaT "BID" to $16,500 and did not sell...

About 20 years ago a guy in a Range Rover flagged me down while riding my 1000S and offered to buy my bike in which I declined his offer. Turns out he was a friend of a friend and he ended up buy a package deal of a 76 LeMans and a 93-1000S for $15K which we all thought was a crazy amount of money........

I'm here in Oz and watch 1000S prices closely, I actually had a look at this bike a couple of months ago, if it was complete it's probably worth close to the asking price, BUT,... there is a lot of the "goodstuff" missing,
Indicators, Tailight, Airbox, Crome shrouds over zorst H-pipe, for starters. SO, the question is "what is an incomplete one worth"?

Yes, it has the wrong taillight but those things are fairly easy to source, same with the turn signals.  I've seen the H-pipe shrouds for sale fairly regularly on eBay but maybe that has changed.

I have been looking for the license plate holder and the little black plastic piece for years, so parts can be difficult to find for those bikes. The last time I saw a front fender, some guy was selling two of them on eBay. The NOS fender sold for something like $1,500 and the slightly used one sold for $1,100 bucks.  One model fender, shorter than all the other Guzzi's. I bought a V7Sport front fender for mine and keep the correct fender on the shelf.

If you have a look on Bikes sales.com (first page of the MGs) you'll see a replica 1000S which he has created using a 93 Sp3. It looks fairly well done but I'm no expert on these. Given that people are asking over $20k for an SP3, it doesn't seem overpriced considering the crazy market at the moment. Not period would be the headlight, rear guard, instruments, sidecovers and the seat looks like it's come off a Le Mans with that ugly front rise.
