Lorenzo actually had a pretty good lap today that lasted for about 2 minutes until Vinales destroyed everybody with a 1:54 and change...he really has to be the favorite for Qatar...
-

All done till Sunday at 10:55 am EST. No qualifying. Rained out.

Yeah, apparently Qatar is 1 of the tracks they won't race on when wet, or maybe because they race at night there too?
-
that part of the world doesn't know about pumps?
-
They know a thing or two about pumps...

I just got back from the county convention (a hoot but no politics here). Anyway, I turn on the DVR machine and WTF? It's rained in the desert?
Nevermind. Supercross on.

"They know a thing or two about pumps..."
They obviously haven't planed on much drainage at the track 'cause the UAE is just one giant sand box. I'll bet after this there will be a drainage plan drawn up and installed!
This kind of an incident must be quite costly.
This is an oil rich country. Costs are nothing to these operators. Otherwise they wouldn't be paying the light bill only racing at night there let alone the cost of the racetrack and bleachers. They don't even care how many spectators there are for a race there.
-
Since all qualifying was cancelled due to wet weather, the grid will be as follows for the Moto GP from practice times:
Front row- Vinales Iannone Marquez
Zarco Dovizioso Redding
Pedrosa Folger Crutchlow
Rossi Petrucci Lorenzo
+ other 3 rows
Might be a pretty interesting race! I suggest Moto GP race will start on BEin Ch. @ 10:55 am on the left coast.

Bump, currently watching Moto3

What about them apples?
Holy moly.

The old man was not too shabby!

What a great race, once it finally started(rain). A rookie (Zarco) led the first laps and was actually pulling away.....eventually crashing out in a corner. From then on there was no boredom as different known riders took turns leading right up to the end. No one really pulled away and Vinales won in the end but not by much. Rossi, who started mid pack earned 3rd place. Lorenzo who also started back in the pack was never a factor.
-
did you notice how Marquez gave a little brake check down goes the Maniac Suzuki?
-
Betting before the year is out that Lorenzo wishes he was back on the Yamaha .

Yeah, I saw that. Iannone needs to change some of his bad habits if he ever wants to win again. :boxing:

Well, what a nice belated birthday present! Dovi rode a helluva race to finish second, the Moto3 race was fun as hell, and I get to keep my health care!!! Congratulations, Senor Vinales!!

I saw it on a replay but forget who made contact with Rossi on the start. But as I recall what really happened is Rossi came forward and got on the other racer's line and that's why they made contact. :undecided: I was afraid they might both go down, but neither did. :thumb:

6th, 7" behind the winner (for a comparison, last year, Maverick Vinales was 6th with the Suzuki, but at 15"), and the lap analisys is even more impressive. For all the second part of the race, Espargaro had the same pace of the 3 leaders and was faster than Pedrosa and Marquez. His fastest lap (1'56"194) had been the second fastest of the race, only 4 hundreths slower than Vinales' fastest lap (1'56"157).

I get to keep my health care!!!
Seriously?

Crutchlow whacked Rossi's tail at the start, and broke the camera loose
