I usually ride on NYD, but this year it was raining and near freezing, so didn't want to make a mess of the bike and risk getting stuck somewhere if the temp dropped any farther.

Short, cold ride NYD. Much better yesterday, the back way to The Wall, the East Bay's low-rent motorcycle hangout. Minimal traffic until Tilden Park, which of course was swarmed with people. No surprise there. Sunny and warm enough for a bunch of Ducatis to show up.  8)  Yeah, I had the only Guzzi.

New Years Eve, 19 degrees F, rode the scooter to the supermarket. Fingers got cold.
New Years Day,  25 degrees F, rode the scooter ..for the heck of it. Fingers got gold.

That is all.

Since I ride to work every day year round, I didn't see the point.

Didn't ride NYD as I went with family to the Rose Parade and then had stuff to do afterwards; but did have a great ride today with friends. Did about a hundred miles through the local canyons, and will probably do something similar on Tuesday.

Maggie and I went out for a short ride. It was sunny and cold but we enjoyed it.

Too cold and rainy.  The cold wouldn't have stopped us, but the rain did.

Did a very short one in CT, down to the beach at 8 am, it was about 24 degrees, even with heated handgrips my fingers were freezing

Is this requirement akin to jumping into water on NYD?   ~;  Had I been @ home it would have meant riding thru 7.5" of snow !!   :o  There aren't any snow plows where I live.  :D

I did.0 degrees but nice dry roads.  NYD isn't that big a deal, but lack of traffic is really nice.

Oh come on Wayne.  Get that MP3 out there and rollthrough the white stuff!

:)  :)

From one who did not ride on NYD cause the bike was partially disassembled  :(  And there was snow in the driveway (which is dirt with a 10% grade)  ;)

Actually, 2 wheels in front aren't helpful in gravel or high snow(I assume).  :D

A group of 13 of us Seattle area Guzzisti did our annual ride out to Neah Bay, the Nothwesternmost point in the continental USofA.

Copied here from the GRiSO ghetto...

Quote
It was cold (27-34 ℉), the roads were wet, or icy, or covered in slick de-icer.  It was the scariest ride I've ever been on out to Neah Bay!  With 8 rookies on this ride, I'm surprised as hell that not a single bike went down.  Still, it was a fantastic way to start out a new Guzzi year!

Here are some photos.

Karl prepping his '69 Ambassador on New Years Eve...

A few shots from the ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge Island.

From the bow.

From the stern.

A look south to Mt. Rainier.

Nearing Bainbridge dock.

About to disembark, 8:22 am - 33℉

Met up with some riders from the north and south for a top off before heading to the peninsula.  Now 8:54 am and 27℉

Two GRiSOs, a Stelvio, and an Aprilia Futura

Another panorama...

A customized 1100 Sport, Fresh Egg's GRiSO, an Eldorado, and two Norges.

You've got to bundle-up and plug-in or you're going to be miserable on this ride...

Roy and his classic Eldorado were still hanging on to the Christmas spirit...

The Bistecca Corse Diavolo Nero...

At 40 with his 69 Ambassador, Karl was the youngest rider on the oldest bike.  He absolutely rides the shit out of a loop frame...

Fresh Egg on the prep...

Street's GRiSO Rosso and a peek at the Diavolo Nero.

It's official, it's a New Years Day Cabal...

This bike is a gorgeous labor of love, more photos on this one later...

James' nicely re-birthed Eldorado.  One of the three loop-frame Guzzis that made the trip.

Dick's Stelvio NTX and the Aprilia Futura.

Maybe stopped too long in Port Angeles, it's really cold...

Karl's Ambassador surrounded by three flavours of GRiSO...

The fast group waits for group 2 before making the turn to head out to Sekiu and Neah Bay.  Although fast is a definite misnomer on this ride...

From the head of the line...  (Notice Rudolf out front...)

Stopping for lunch in Sekiu, just short of Neah Bay and the Makah tribal reservation.

Fresh Egg (Jin) cuts a mighty fine figure...

Which always begs the question, does Jin have a brother named Ken?

Now a few more shots from Sekiu...

Our little ghetto on the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Pete and Jin.

GRiSOs are still pretty, even when they're filthy.

Panoramica...

More detailed photos on the hand laid bodywork on that 95 1100 Sport...

Kind of funny, the youngest rider was on the oldest bike, and the oldest rider was on the newest bike...

The loops...

The Sport Tourers...

We have odd Salmon runs out this way...

Now that's Italian!

It felt good to warm up and eat...

A row of mugs.

On both sides of the table.

Pete and Dick yucking it up.

The whole enchilada!

Better late than never, Tony "catches up" to us on his Ducati Multistrada.  He had passed us in Port Angeles and rode all the way out to Neah Bay before turning back and finding us bellied up in Sekiu only 20 minutes after we arrived.  (He started out 30 minutes behind.  He's a beast!)

Tony's Multistrada, still steaming from chasing us down.

Turned out to be a very nice day out on the point.

On to the terminus of Neah Bay, just a few quick shots before heading back.  We wanted to get a move on as darkness falls too soon this time of year.

A selfie with a pirate patch...

All lined up at the Quay.

Last one, no time for any more photos on the trip back...

Finished off the trip at the 9lb Hammer for some welcome beer upon returning to Seattle!

Happy New Year to all of the Bravi!
