Loop standard handlebar bend data?
« on: November 15, 2017, 02:34:52 PM »
Although I posted a "wanted" ad in the Swap section for a pair of Loop bars (I'll have to pull that ad), I'm looking now at non-Guzzi alternates, which gets me into bend specs for the bars.

Are the specs for the Loop bars posted anywhere?

Why not these from MG Cycle, it's what I bought for my loop

I considered the MG bars, but when I saw these babies I changed my mind:

BUT, I'd like to hear what the ride position is like with those stock bars. Too upright? Too forward? uncomfortable bend? Right now I'm swayed by the brief writeup and visuals on Greg's site.

These are my "gold standard".  I love the position on the Loop so well I added a pair (widened) to my Bassa and used the angles to set the Helibars on my Goldwing to match.

Handlebars are another of those things that are a personal preference - what suits one person, may not the next.

For me, the Loop "civilian" 'bars are perfect - just enough height and pullback to give me the degree of forward lean that is most comfortable. I tried a set of slightly lower Emgo 'bars once and couldn't get them off of the bike fast enough. Plus as the guy in the link states, the starter button bracket would contact the tank.

I had Emgo "European Touring"  bars on my loop.  They got bent in a tip-over and were replaced with Emgo "Daytona" Bars.  Slightly taller, they give better clearance for switches. I have the ignition on the key and no start button.

I will definitely take this under advisement, thanks. A testimony is as good as bend data. Except I'd still like bend data so I can get an idea of how-far out of the civilian-bar nirvana The cool Norton bars would be.
