That really seems like a fun trip, and a heck of a deal if you were planning on buying anyways.

My thoughts exactly.  If I were planning on buying a V100 I would definitely do the Ozarks trip.  $1250 extra for the trip and 650 miles on the bike, is worth it to try before spending $17000 on the bike and never falling in love with it.

Plus when you add in lodging, fuel, etc for all those days..  It would be hard to do the trip much cheaper by yourself, on your own bike.

The Moto Guzzi ride experience is back for 2023 with rides in Yellowstone, Smokey Mountains, and the Ozarks. Last year they used V85TT and this year will be V100 Mandellos.

https://www.motoguzzi.com/us_EN/mg-exp-2023/

On a lark I looked up Yellowstone as it's on my bucket list. Long story short (and encouraged by my understanding wife) I booked that event and will spend 4-days riding around MT and WY on a V100 Mandello. Should be quite the adventure!

A buddy and I signed up for the Yellowstone trip and are taking our wives. I rented the V100. This trip is now sold out. You have to reserve within a few days of announcement. Yellowstone sold out quickly last year as well.

I test rode the V100 at AF1 Austin last weekend. It is a great bike. Look forward to riding on Yellowstone trip. Spite's Corner just did a review on the V100. See link below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njhOQc4-iOo

We did the Moto Guzzi Experience AR trip in fall 2021, and it was awesome. Piaggio sponsored a great trip. And, you get a special discount if you purchase a new V100 and V85 before end of 2023.

Cool!  You going to use that discount to buy one if you fall in love with it?  You will love riding around the Yellowstone area.  Are they planning to go up to Red Lodge over the Beartooth Pass?

The Yellowstone itinerary is:

Day 1 - Bozeman, MT to Red Lodge, MT with no specific route mentioned (~150 mi)
Day 2 - Rt 212 (Bearthooth Highway), Gallatin National Forrest and Yellowstone then down 296 to Cody, WY (150+ mi)
Day 3 - Back through Yellowstone, with several stops including Old Faithful and the Yellowstone river ending in Prey, MT (~150 mi)
Day 4 - North on 191 towards Big Sky then loop back to Bozeman (~100 mi)

I've only had my V85 for a couple years and plan to keep it. Will be another couple years before I'd consider a V100. Even with $1500 off it's still quite expensive.

Yes it's expensive but compared to other brands right in the ballpark and looks to be a good deal coming from a guy who has had a couple of Harleys.

It includes 5 nights hotels and 5 days of meals and the bike rental... I dunno. Sounds pretty good to me.

I have been using hotel points for personal use for 20 years. I ran out of points in 2022 because of $&@?/, and now have to swallow $125 a night stays which is why I am trying to get back into camping. Personally, I can eat for an average of $20 a day. Gas for 300 miles a day average would be around $25 a day. Add incidentals and I’m under $200 a day staying in hotels. Drop down to camping and now I am down to under $100 a day.

Of course sharing a room or campsite drops it down to around $100 / $75 a day so traveling with a friend who is willing to share a room makes hotel rooms appealing.

5 nights shared would be $300.  5 days food $100.  4 days riding at an average of 200 miles about $60.   So, around $500 with incidentals.

$1000 extra for a guide?  If I were planning to take advantage of the $750 discount then it would be worth it to meet other Guzzi enthusiasts. Otherwise, not worth it.

Of course you have to consider that your family income is at a whole different level than my family income which is going to affect our perspective on expenses.

Yellowstone, Smoky Mountains, or the Ozarks on the V100 and V85TT.
I did the one in California in 2021.  It was fantastic.  Run by a bunch of young guys from Piaggio marketing.  Led by a professional rider.  Well planned over excellent routed.  Did mountains, canyons, desert (including a little light off road), and PCH.  Good lodging.  Excellent meals.  Great fellowship with other Guzzi enthusiast (and a couple that had never ridden a Guzzi before).  And I got a credit out of it that "forced" me into buying a new V85.  Just Do It!

The 2021 AR trip was also outstanding. The Piaggio van handled luggage and delivered to each hotel we stayed at. Piaggio covered all the hotel and meal costs. It is awesome to have a guided tour. We also had a professional rider who raced Pikes Peak a few years ago. Really incredible experience. Having a van and everything planned makes the trip so much more enjoyable. You don't have to worry about planning, riding routes, gas locations, restaurants, or hotels. Just show up, and follow the person in front of you.

I highly recommend the trip. It is expensive, but really worth it. And having a credit for a Moto Guzzi purchase is icing on the cake.

You're a little light on the hotel costs.  21C in Bentonville starts at $210 per night.  Rates at the lodge at Mount Magazine could be up to $220, depending upon which rooms are reserved.

And they're Not eating on $20 per day.  They're going to spend more than $20 per meal.

I've lived and ridden in The Ozarks for nearly 30-years and have had my share of $20 days (food and fuel) and $49 nights (no tell motels).

This isn't one of those trips.  Sometimes it's nice to roll First Class.

I wasn't trying to compare to where they are staying and eating.  Just stating what I would be spending on a trip with a companion rider.  I'm sure the majority of these trip participants are in a different economic situation than I am.  Just like when I pull into a campground with my home made trailer amongst all the Class A motorhomes.  Also, being an introvert, following others and dealing with the group dynamics would be more stress than enjoyment.

I think the trip sounds like you would be hard pressed to do the same on your own dime for (much) less.  My only difference would be riding a lot more miles on a 5 day trip. I am no Iron Butt, but 100-150mi/day seems like a lot more managed itinerary than I would be looking for. For the cost of food/lodging/bike rental or transport, doesnt seem easy to beat on a dollars and cents basis.

Also, any motorcycle trip into MT that doesnt take you to the Shonkin Sag and/or Flathead Valley is a non-starter for me  :thumb: But of course I am biased having lived in Greenough and Helena

The itinerary indicates there are scenic stops along the route for things like Yellowstone River and Old Faithful. I'm sure these stops are more for photo ops than bio breaks/rests.

I remember on a motorcycle trip with a buddy when I was in the Army on leave. I was riding my R75/5 and he on his CB 450, that will tell how long ago this was. We were in the Flathead Valley known for it cherries orchards, coming around a curve we saw a fruit stand being attended by a gorgeous blonde. There was a sign on the stand that said "Want a Cherry." Both of us about fell off our bikes.
