OK , for those of you who don't know , our friend David Welch , Sickbay 987 here on WG , is facing some health problems . Scheduled for open heart surgery this coming week . David is an RN , and has been on the other side of this deal more than once , but it is different when it is you going on the table . He is in good spirits , his biggest disappointment is missing the Okie camp out this year . Anyway , as David said to me , prayers of all types are welcome , Voodoo , a Buddhist chant , wave a dead chicken around , a quiet request to God for his recovery , anything will be welcomed  My guess is the Docs will fix him right up and we will be seeing David and his lovely wife Colleen with the kids in tow at many more gatherings :bike-037: :thumb:

David,
Everything is going to go perfect with your surgery. The doctors will have warm, steady hands and the scar lines will be straight. :) Prayers will be going up from East Texas for you, Colleen and the kids, and all your doctors and nurses and other caretakers.
Being on the other side will open your eyes to what some of your patients are going through! My 97 year old aunt, a retired nurse, broke her shoulder a few years ago and had a very painful recovery in physical therapy, worse then when she broke her hip. She felt guilty for all the times she pushed her patients to do things that hurt them, but were necessary to regain the use of whatever was injured.
Follow orders and you'll be back on your feet in no time!

An update from Colleen . David is recuperating on schedule , all vitals are good . As we were speaking , their 9 year old boy had a minor crash on his training wheel equipped dirt bike . Overheard him say , "I'm OK mommy" , apple didn't fall far from the tree .

Good to see you on the recovery road David.
As you probably know a number of us here are members of the "Zipper Club" and know what you had to go through. Early days yet. One day at a time.
